🟩 The Boy They Told Secrets To
Nov 13, 2025 3:05 pm
Hi ,
You know, trust has always been a bit of a strange companion in my life.
Even as a kid, I found myself in these quiet little pockets of conversation where adults just… opened up.
There I was, this young kid, feeling the weight of other people's stories placed gently in my hands.
I didn’t fully understand it then, but I knew it mattered.
So I listened. I made eye contact.
I tried to be a good custodian of whatever trust they handed me.
Fast forward to my days as a medical student, stepping into the role of a physician, and that early lesson in trust became a kind of quiet superpower.
Patients I’d never met before would open up to me, and that trust wasn’t just a nice feeling. It genuinely helped them heal.
It was this incredible gift, and maybe even a kind of talent, that I could offer, a safe space where trust made everything a little bit better.
These days, I still feel that same weight and that same quiet sense of duty.
And while it can be a little awkward or even draining, it has shaped how I show up for others.
It’s never about saying “trust me.”
It’s about quietly being trustworthy.
Over time. In small, consistent ways.
More on this tomorrow.
