🟩 The offer I thought would convert - and didn’t

Aug 02, 2025 3:26 pm

Hi ,

Early in my business, I wrote a page I was sure would convert.

I poured hours into it.

I refined every line.

I even borrowed structure from proven frameworks.

And when I finally shared it with my audience?

Crickets.

No replies.

No calls booked.

No feedback, not even the polite kind.

It was quiet in the worst way.

Looking back, I can tell you exactly what I got wrong:

I focused too much on what I wanted to say

and not enough on what they needed to hear.

I wrote from my perspective.

I highlighted my process.

I emphasized the parts I found interesting.

But I forgot to anchor the message in their world.

Their pain.

Their language.

Their stuckness.

It wasn’t that the offer was bad, it was solid.

The problem was that the message was self-centered.

Not selfish, just… internal. And invisible to them.

I learned the hard way that great offers don’t sell themselves.

They need a message that makes people feel:

  • “This is about me”
  • “This person understands”
  • “This could work, for real”

That’s when they start leaning in.

That’s when they reach out.

That’s when all the “maybe someday” leads finally move.

So if your message feels off,

or if your offer isn’t landing the way you know it could,

start by asking:

“Am I talking about what I want to say,
or what they need to hear right now?”
