đźź© How to make rejection measurable (and actually fun)

Hi ,

Once you stop fearing rejection, the next step is to measure it.

Because what you measure, you start to master.

Most people treat rejection like an unpredictable storm.

It comes and goes, leaves you shaken, and you never know when the next one is coming.

But once you start tracking it, something shifts.

It stops being this invisible force that controls you.

It becomes something you can observe, count, and even anticipate.

When you can see rejection, you can face it.

And once you can face it, you can overcome it.

One of my clients once wrote the numbers 42 down to 1 on a big sheet of paper. Every time he heard a “no,” he crossed one off.

At first, it was uncomfortable.

It felt mechanical. But by the tenth “no,” something changed.

He started smiling after each one.

He would message me saying, “Got another!” not in defeat, but with the energy of someone collecting tokens on the way to a prize.

By number twenty, he wasn’t chasing yeses anymore.

He was chasing progress.

The beauty of this approach is that it removes the emotional weight from the process.

Each no isn’t a setback. It’s just one more step forward.

Here’s the framework I use:

1. Set a target number. Pick 42 or 100 no’s. Make it a real goal.

2. Track every ask. Every conversation, proposal, or outreach counts.

3. Review weekly. What patterns are you noticing? Which conversations felt easier? Which ones opened doors unexpectedly?

4. Celebrate completion. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s persistence.

At first, you might feel resistance to this exercise.

Your mind will try to protect you from the discomfort of hearing “no” repeatedly.

That’s normal. But the longer you stay in motion, the less control that fear has over you.

Eventually, you begin to crave the rhythm of consistency.

You stop tying your self-worth to results.

You start measuring your days by actions taken, not outcomes received.

Rejection becomes a part of the rhythm of your work, like breathing.

Inhale. Ask.

Exhale. Reflect.

And move forward.

The irony is that by the time you hit your target number, the no’s stop bothering you.

In fact, you may not even notice them anymore.

That’s when you know the habit is working.

You’ve built resilience through repetition.

You’ve turned uncertainty into data.

And you’ve proven to yourself that momentum isn’t emotional.

It’s mathematical.

You can’t control who says yes, but you can control how often you show up.

And the more times you show up, the shorter the distance between you and your next win.
