🟩 You know too much. That’s the problem.

Hi ,

I once worked with a consultant who was absolutely brilliant.

Their insights were sharp.

Their systems were airtight.

Their results were repeatable.

But their messaging?

It made zero impact.

Not because they weren’t trying — but because their message kept going over people’s heads.

They were talking in advanced-level language… to an audience that was still trying to solve basic problems.

This happens more often than you’d think.

The more skilled you get, the harder it becomes to explain what you do in simple terms.

You start skipping over the things that feel “obvious,”

because you’ve internalized your process so deeply, you don’t realize what’s confusing anymore.

This is what I call expert blindness.

And it’s one of the most common reasons great professionals struggle to market themselves.

They’re not being unclear on purpose.

They’re just so good at what they do, they can’t remember what it’s like to not get it.

That’s why outside perspective is so powerful.

Someone else can spot the jargon, the assumptions, the leaps in logic you don’t even notice anymore.

And more importantly, they can help you translate your expertise into language that feels approachable and compelling.

Because people don’t want your depth — not at first.

They want to know, “Can you help me with my problem?”

If your message makes them feel slow, small, or behind, they’ll disengage.

But if your message meets them where they are,

you’ll earn the right to guide them further.

Relentlessly dedicated to your profitability,
