đźź© Trust Is Not My Strength

Nov 14, 2025 2:11 pm

Hi ,

Some years ago, I took the Fascinate Assessment.

It’s a tool I now use with clients to help them understand how they naturally communicate and how to build a brand around their true strengths.

When I got my results, two things stood out immediately.

One: My primary and secondary advantages made perfect sense.

Two: My dormant advantage, the style of communication that drains me the most, was trust.

I laughed out loud.

Because if you’ve known me for more than five minutes, you’ve probably felt it.

People trust me. They always have.

Even strangers open up to me, sometimes in the first conversation.

It’s happened since I was a kid, and it still happens now.

But here’s the irony.

I’m not comfortable talking about trust.

I’ll never say “trust me” to someone.

In fact, when people start a sentence with “trust me…” it sets off alarm bells in my head.

It feels awkward. Unnatural. Exhausting, even.

So I don’t ask for trust.

I do my best earn it. Slowly. Quietly.

In small, consistent ways.

Through how I show up.

Through what I do.

Not what I say.

That Fascinate report said:

“This is your most exhausting form of communication.”

And they were right.

But just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s not mine to carry.

Over the years, I’ve come to see trust not as a technique, but as a quiet kind of stewardship.

You don’t build trust by asking for it.

You build it by being the kind of person people feel safe with, even when you’re not trying.

P.S.

If you’re curious about your own Fascinate profile or want help clarifying your personal brand, I’d be happy to explore it with you.

Just reply and let me know. Especially if you’re trying to grow in your genius zone or build something high-performing, this can be a powerful starting point.
