Context Matters

A cold day feels colder in Florida than it does in Ohio.

A 45 degree day feels different at the end of winter than it does in late September.

Making a long putt for birdie feels a lot different than making a long putt for triple bogey.

Being a minute late for the start of a baseball game is not the same as being a minute late for a flight.

Messing up a dialogue or script when you are practicing with peers or a coach is not nearly as costly as not knowing what to say to a potential customer when you are hoping they will hire you to be their agent.

Context matters.

It is important to understand where you are, what you are doing, when it is needed, and who you are doing it for.

BE IN THE MOMENT. Now is not yesterday, and now is not tomorrow. Now is now.

You cannot decide to dress appropriately today for yesterday’s weather.
