The total US food economy is estimated to be roughly 10 trillion dollars annually. It's about 20% of the entire economic output of our nation.

That breaks down to about $100 million dollars... every five minutes.

And in August, we have three individuals coming to take part in Rogue who each have built businesses with five minutes at the farm and food table.

They are right around or have passed roughly 100 million dollar (and growing) in revenue.

It reminds me of the question that was popular when I was a kid.

What would you do with five minutes of fame?

But here, what would you do with five minutes of the entire US food economy?

One is on the tech and direct farmer to consumer side - my friend Max Kane and his company, Farm Match, which just broke the 100 million mark in sales.

Next is Steven Rofrano of Ancient Crunch, a company committed to making traditional, truly organic snack foods with real fats and oils good for eaters and farmers and ecosystems that those ingredients are sourced from - what he hopes will become the Frito-Lay of real food.

And then we have David Stelzer, founder of Azure Standard, who are changing the landscape of large scale, direct to consumer organic and real food distribution across the entire country.

What would you or are you doing with five minutes of the US farm and food economy?

We want to find out the answer from each of them.

Together they represent over 15 minutes of the entire annual US farm and food economy - and an even bigger piece of the organic, regenerative, pastured/grass-fed side - and you will get to enjoy Joel and myself having a lengthy discussion with them about the ups, downs, ins, outs, challenges and more they have faced getting there, and where they think things are headed.
