Putting on a suit and tie to attend the company's Christmas dinner isn't my idea of a good time but a glimpse of the curvy chef that runs the fancy restaurant has me rethinking my plans for an early exit.

July's everything I want and I've got plans to make her mine, but her shyness is rooted in a past full of people she couldn't count on.

I'll have to prove I'm on her side before she believes I want her forever.

When a customer at her restaurant crosses the line, I'll put my job and my reputation on the line to defend her.

Because my future is with July and I'll do whatever it takes to protect her.

I did something unusual with Levi and July-- I wrote a winter story in the middle of the summer.

A long time ago, I noticed that my books tend to follow the season I'm in in real life, so this was different.

The next book is Adam and Levi's buddy, Jake. You can expect the pre-order link in next week's email.

Do I seem less talkative than usual this week? Especially for a week with a new book to gush over! You'd think I'd be bouncing off the walls.

And I was-- right before I sat down to type up this newsletter.

Because I arrived in "don't-miss-your-turn-or-you-end-up-in-Canada, Idaho" last week after two very long days of driving-- and I swear Idaho is all up hill!-- and settled into a little spot where I was first attacked by truly ruthless mosquitoes, then it took two full hours to get the trailer unhitched (note: it does not take 2 hours to unhitch! And we aren't talking about getting set up, we're talking, it took 2 hours to get the trailer tongue to release the ball hitch,) but the upside was that after all that, I discovered, to my great surprise, that I have data signal out here!

You know; sometimes it's a run-on sentence, but sometimes I just write bizarrely long sentences. You be the judge.

So, while I have been able to keep up with my internet tasks over the past week, it has also slowed the pace of my writing. So we're getting a two week window books this time.

It was 90 degrees when I wrestled the trailer off the hitch (I honestly don't know WTF. It's never done that before. I eventually just doused it in WD-40 and did a lot of cursing. Seemed to work;) then it rained for four days.

Just when I was getting all spoiled with the internet access; it was time to sit down and write this email and my email service provider website is the one that is sassing back, whining that the internet isn't good enough for it.

This email service does not include a lot of bells and whistles, folks. There is no reason it should need more bandwidth than say-- uploading a new book to Amazon.

So by the time I got to the "Hey Ma! Look at me! I wrote another book!" portion of the email...I was pretty much over writing the email.

Also, it got hot again today and the mosquitoes are seriously vicious. They aren't the biggest ones I've seen, but they are the meanest.

Scrolling up, I see that, nah. Just as talkative as always!

Go read Defended by the Lumberjack-- it's low stakes drama, you get some more Moonshine Ridge original cast cameos, and I'm quite fond of Levi.

See ya next week-- if there's enough left of me when the mosquitoes are done.
