Adam:
Six years ago, I showed up in this sleepy mountain town to work for the local logging crew.
Now that I've got some years behind me, I'm ready to make Moonshine Ridge my permanent home, I've got the job, the house, and the desire to build a future here; all I need is the woman who'll build it with me.
I never thought I'd find her clinging to the side of a cliff.
When I look into Phoenix's sky blue eyes, all I see is the future I'm looking for.
I may have rescued Phoenix from a fall that could have ended in tragedy, but when her feet are back on solid ground, will she be the one who rescues my heart?
Now Available on Amazon and in KU!
And just to keep you busy: Here's the pre-order link for the next Moonshine Ridge Lumberjacks book.
Levi and July will be releasing next week, on July 23.
Yes, getting back on the road has been good for my writer brain! It helps that I'm traveling through the Pacific Northwest this summer to explore some roads I haven't been on yet.
While the topography of Moonshine Ridge and the surrounding areas are based loosely on an area of the Sierra Nevada mountains that are one of my favorite places for backpacking, motorcycling, camping, hot springs, small town eats, and epic four wheel drive trails...and there was this one time, at the hot springs, when this absolutely drop-dead gorgeous man dropped ever stitch of his clothes to soak in a nearby pool.
(author sighs wistfully in memory) Huh? Where was I? Oh yeah...I actually think that Moonshine Ridge and the Slow River Valley are set somewhere up here in Oregon or Washington-- and part of this trip is to figure out where. More or less.
In my travels, I'll be moving on to the Idaho panhandle tomorrow-- it's the last part of Idaho I haven't been through, so I'm crossing it off the list before heading west for the rest of the summer.
I'm going to try to bust out Jake and Ivy's story: Saved by the Lumberjack in time to keep up with the quick release momentum, but no guarantees.
I'm excited about Jake and Ivy because Ivy is a folklorist and her story is really just an excuse for me to geek out a little bit. Jake and Ivy will also circle back to the beginning of Rescued by the Lumberjack and answer questions about what scared Phoenix so bad she took off running.
It'll get into the legends of the missing women of the Weeping Wilderness and add more lore to the Moonshine Ridge mythology. Without veering too far off track. Hopefully. Probably.
The first three books of the Lumberjacks series are pretty sweet and low drama, but when we get to the Murdock brothers, we'll be turning the dial up. Higher stakes, more drama, more OTT instalove; ex-military, silver fox style. (I am so excited, can you tell?)
But right now, I have to go move my car. The barista here tells me the local parking enforcement is "very good at her job," and the clock is ticking on that two hour limit.
See you all next week!
