The current state of the writer's cave:

Believe it or not, the hobo house remodel is actually making a lot of progress. Or, it was, then it rained for two days.

Two days of rain gave me a chance to try to update my website-- to no avail. The plug in thingy that lets me add new "blocks" to the Wordpress theme seems to be broken and tech support says, "LOL oh well!"

It turns out that it does still work in another browser, at least, so it's not a total disaster.

I had a little author meltdown this week because I really want the new desk/office/cave done. I've gotten so spoiled by having a little nook to write in that is all mine.

I've been using the BFF's desk in her room here at the house to do all my internetting for the last few weeks and it's driving me crazy-- she's so right-handed! How do you people function?!

We are both also very particular about our space, so I don't dare rearrange her desktop-- and she wouldn't dare rearrange mine-- which is probably why our friendship has lasted for closing in on four decades now.

But no worries! I'll have a desk again as soon as the glitter gets here.

Trust me. You'll see!

And the tracking number promises the chair will be here on Friday.

The cabinets should get secured to the walls as soon as I get the electrical cords properly run through the new set up, and the new countertops are, once again, waiting on glitter. You'll see.

The saddest part is that the new floor plan probably won't look much different from the old one to most people. But it's going to (crosses fingers) make a world of difference in functionality.

What am I doing to stay authorly in the meantime?

We have a proper reader group now! It's over on Facebook, which is where most everyone said they'd prefer it, and it's still at that cozy size where everyone has a chance to get to know each other.
