Hi, !
The Angel's Vow is available now!
Ha! That rhymed π Anyway, I'm so excited to share book 2 with you!! Cora and Vince's journey progresses, and I love seeing their growth and where it takes them! This book has a terrifying new villain, heightened tension between the star-crossed lovers, and, of course, lots of magic and time travel! π
In addition, I've added The Angel's Vow to my Book Shop! If you're interested in buying a signed paperback of my new book, check it out here. I've also reduced my shipping prices (I was originally using the flat rate prices, but it was making things needlessly expensive π). And remember, for anyone who purchases The Demon's Kiss or The Angel's Vow from my shop, you'll get a bonus gift of character art and bookmarks! π

This segment is for those of you who are writing and looking to improve! Please keep in mind I am not an expert by any means, but I do have a lot of experience that I would love to share with you! π
This week's tip is on Writing Romance!
Full disclosure, I don't have experience writing romance as a main genre, but I do always include a good slow burn in my fantasy books π In general, I'm not a huge fan of insta-love (when the characters first meet and fall in love immediately) because it's not very realistic, and most readers don't like it, either.
So, to write a good slow burn, it's all about dropping small hints along the way. The couple definitely won't be infatuated right off the bat (they might find each other physically attractive, sure, but you don't want to lean on that too heavily with a slow burn). Put your characters in tons of situations together - preferrably alone. They can't fall in love if they aren't around each other a lot, and usually, spreading this out over a long time (weeks or months) helps make the slow burn more believable.
Each time your characters are together, up the ante just a bit. Maybe they start to flirt. Maybe they brush hands or their legs are touching when they sit next to each other. Maybe they lean closer or stare a bit longer than usual. Try to put off the first kiss (or almost-kiss) until much later when it feels natural. You want the reader to work for it! You want them to scream, "Come on, kiss already!"
