Hello!
I just arrived back home today from Author Nation in Las Vegas. It's an author-centric conference that offers all sorts of sessions on the business side of writing, among other things. It's always a blast, but unfortunately I had to make my trip a little shorter than normal so I could get back home for a convention tomorrow.
I'll be at Corinth Comic Con in Corinth Mississippi, so if you're in the area, come check it out.
I always learn a lot at the conference, but my favorite part is the networking. Being among like-minded people who know what the writing endeavor is like helps to recharge me.
Anyway, I'm working through editing book 2 of my new series, and I've reached out to one of my artists to do some character art. I think I've decided to do illustrative covers for this series, so I'll share more on that when it gets closer!
I'm playing catch-up from being gone, so this is a short newsletter.
Below you'll find a giveaway, an author spotlight, and a free ebook promotion!
What I’m reading: I'm about to start my reread of Dragons of Autumn Twilight!
What I’m watching: I recently watch Bram Stoker's Dracula. My wife had never seen it before, and at the end, she said, "That's it? So is she still a vampire or not?" 😂
What are you reading/watching?
As always, a huge thank you for the support!
Richard

Author Spotlight
Warriors are forged, not born.
Seventeen-year-old Kaleth never wanted to be a fighter. Too thin, too weak, and too afraid, he could never fit in at Lightbinder Academy where the kingdom’s elite warriors are molded. But when his family ends up with an impossible debt, he makes the only choice he can: signing his life away to the brutal school.
Thrown into a demanding world of deadly trials, arrogant rivals, and impossible expectations, he is outmatched at every turn. The only thing that can save him is whispers of a long-lost magic.
As Kaleth struggles to stay alive, a threat to the academy itself grows. Initiates are dying, and trust grows fleeting. The line between ally and enemy blurs as a clash looms.
Can Kaleth overcome his weakness to save his family and friends while everyone else wants him dead?
Lightbinder is book one of a new young-adult fantasy epic that will immerse you into a dangerous world of elite warrior training. With rich characters and a driving plot, this easy-to-read series will keep you on the edge of your seat!
