Hello!

Greetings from Scotland! I arrived here on Tuesday, and it's been awesome exploring the city of Edinburgh. I've included some pictures below. Today I went to a small coastal town called Pittenweem to see St. Filian's Cave.

It's an old monastic cave, and you get the key to the gate from a chocolate shop.

We ate lunch at the chocolate shop first, then got the key and checked out the cave. After the cave, we walked along the port. It was absolutely beautiful. It was low tide, so we grabbed a small collection of shells and cool looking rocks.

On Wednesday, we saw Craigmillar castle. It's been my favorite thing I've seen so far while in Edinburgh. Here's a few pictures:

Tomorrow we head to Glasgow, where we'll spend 3 days. I'll provide a more in-depth review of my itinerary and include more pictures in my next newsletter, so these will have to hold you over for now.

In other news, Crown of Feathers has been published! It's the final book of the Talonbound series, and I really like how it ended. I put Iden through a lot in this one, so get ready for the roller coaster, ha! I've linked it below in case you haven't already picked up a copy.

Until the next newsletter!

Below you'll find a free ebook promotion and 2 Author Spotlights!

What I’m reading: I'm not reading anything while on vacation, but I'll be starting the sequel to Six Crimson Cranes when I get back home.

What I’m watching: Before I left for Scotland, I watched Greenland and Greenland 2. The first one was better in my opinion, as I felt the second one really didn't need to be made.

What are you reading/watching?

As always, a huge thank you for the support!

Defender of Histories by Haley Walden

When history is a weapon, the truth can get you killed.

Lira has spent her life safeguarding the past. A devoted scholar in the royal archive, she believes history is sacred, the kingdom just, and the throne worthy of her loyalty. When the young king, Eremon, names her Defender of Histories, their growing closeness turns the honor into something far more complicated.

Then Lira inherits a forbidden magic. One that does not record history, but reveals it. Through haunting visions, Lira begins to see the past as it truly happened. Magic was stolen. Truths were rewritten. A ruling bloodline was built on lies. The more she uncovers, the more dangerous her position becomes.

Court intrigue tightens around her. Dark magic stirs. And the king she loves is hiding a secret that may already be killing him.

As enemies close in and the truth costs her everything, her future, her freedom, and her first love, Lira is forced to choose. She can cling to the lies that once defined her world, or embrace the power that could tear it apart. Because if history has been stolen, someone must defend it.
