Hello!
The countdown to Christmas has begun! From twinkling lights to cozy moments with loved ones, it’s truly the most magical time of the year! For those who celebrate Christmas: What’s the one tradition or memory that makes the holiday extra special for you?
As my kids got older, Christmas felt less like Christmas. They didn't get up early to see the presents under the tree, and it became less festive. Now that we have grandkids (it will never get weird saying that - I'm only 39, I promise!), it feels like those earlier days again.
In other news, progress on Sworn has been delayed for about a week and a half now. The main reason being that I had to fulfill my most recent Kickstarter. That took almost 4 full days to pack all the books up and ship them out, and then I had 2 events, and then I got sick. I'm currently still recovering. Wednesday I was feeling OK, but still not 100%. Yesterday, it hit me again and I didn't have the energy to do much of anything. I'm hoping I feel better quickly. With that said, my plan is to have the book completed in the next few weeks.
I'm supposed to be in Columbus Ohio today for GalaxyCon Columbus, but due to my illness, I stayed home. Since it was last minute, I had to take a loss on the booth fee and hotel, which was just over $500. If you've got some coins to toss to your author, I'd be happy to fulfill some orders on my website (signed books make great gifts!), or you can always grab some ebooks/audiobooks. No pressure, of course, but every little bit helps!
As a reminder, if you don't follow my Facebook page, you should check it out. I post daily questions with dragon art, and I'll be doing a weekly giveaway of some books with minor aesthetic damage. I'll post a question each Monday and will choose a winner on Fridays. If you're interested, you can see my page here.
Below you'll find a giveaway and a free ebook promo.
What I’m reading: I finished reading Dragon Rider by Taran Matharu, and it was a great read. I'm looking forward to book 2 coming out, and I'm sad I have to wait, ha! I just started Hunter by Nicole Conway. The first chapter pulled me in immediately with action, and I'm enjoying it so far.
What I’m watching: I watched Alita: Battle Angel for the first time the other night. I'm not sure why I never watched it before now, but it was a really cool concept. The family and I also watched Moana 2. I found it to be pretty boring until about 70-80% of the way in. It was nowhere near as good as the first one, and this is one sequel we didn't need. That's just my opinion, though. My wife enjoyed it.
What are you reading/watching?
As always, a huge thank you for the support!
