Hello
The Dog Tax
Okay, so you accept dogs over cats. I'm glad you're willing to be so accommodating, and to show my thanks, I'd like you to meet my dog Tato (You can see her partner in crime next to her). I'm not usually a fan of French Bulldogs, but there are some fights you win, and some fights you....
....really don't win. Can you guess which one this was?
Fortunately, she hasn't annoyed the hell outta me yet, but she's only about eight months old, so there's time.
A bottomless pit:
So as I mentioned last week, one of my side projects involves a music nerd, which has taken me down the rabbit hole of what different songs sound like on different instruments. You've got the beautiful ('Memories' on the violin), the strange, but actually awesome (previously mentioned "Hallaleuja" on the harmonica) and the just plain 'what the actual hell' of one guy who plays music on his dog's rubber chicken. I have spent far, far too long listening to this guy in awe of his skills.
Chicken guy is why I'm not finishing book 2. Yeah, let's blame that.
In other news, I'm getting pretty good learning "Take on me" on the recorder. By the time I'm ready to launch that book, I hope to have it mastered. Another useless skill gained thanks to the research rabbit hole.
Today's free stuff:
My promo this fortnight is about short stories. It's a bit of a wider range than usual, but I was getting a bit sick of seeing the same books on the promos I joined, and wanted to branch out a bit (I assume they were sick of seeing me too).
This promo has a book in it called "What to do when your bro is possessed." Since I am quietly confident my brother is - in fact - possessed, I'll be grabbing a copy of this one to see what to do. If anyone else has tips, I welcome them.
Otherwise, I should be getting my first book back from the editor soon. (She even told me soon, so it's probably only about six months away) which means I can get this show on the road!
Bye for now!
