imageNEW REFORMCAST Episodes: Sue Marshall Leads The Way With New Taxes [WATCH HERE]

I've been working on a podcast in order to keep Clark County informed of what's happening and also to let you know of things to come.

Last week, I released a recap of the BIG tax increases that the County Council approved with Sue Marshall leading the way (her FOURTH vote in a row to raise your taxes).

THIS WEEK'S EPISODE...

This week I introduced a Spotlight episode where we take a closer look at how the Clark County Democrats are pivoting to "affordability" all while raising your taxes, on just about everything they can get their hands on, exposing that this is just about winning elections and keeping or gaining more power

BIG STORY COMING: Ridgefield School District Ignored Student Complaints, Celebrated the Coach, Then Exposed Student Identitiesimage

A major story is unfolding inside Ridgefield School District—and it’s much bigger than a coaching controversy. For nearly two years, students raised serious concerns about the high school coach while the district stalled, minimized, and even publicly celebrated her. But once public records requests forced the issue, the coach resigned—and the district made things dramatically worse by exposing the identities of students who bravely stepped forward.

ICYMI: EVERY POSSIBLE TAX INCREASE APPROVED BY CLARK COUNTY COUNCIL FOR THE 2026 BUDGET

image

It was a tax-and-spend binge at the County Council this week. Unfortunately, we all saw this coming under Sue Marshall’s leadership. She telegraphed it during her State of the County speech when she warned that “new revenue sources” would be needed — and that is exactly what happened. They left no stone unturned when it came to raising your taxes.

Sue Marshall has now voted EVERY TIME to raise your property taxes. In fact, one of her very first votes on the Council was a vote to raise them.

Let me tell you how this game works:

They overspend, create a structural deficit, and then use that deficit — along with “uncontrollable factors” — as justification to raise taxes again. It’s a cycle built on bad budgeting and political convenience.

This week, the Council voted to take the full 1% increase plus the banked capacity. That means a 1.8% increase in your property taxes. And just like every other taxing entity — schools, special districts, you name it — they use the same talking point:

“It’s only a few dollars more.”

But it’s never just a few dollars.

Each group overspends, expands programs, hires more staff, or launches initiatives in the name of whatever the cause of the day is — “climate change,” “equity,” or some new bureaucratic priority — and then comes back the next year demanding even more of your money.

Councilor Belkot was the only one to vote against the 1.8% increase.

Not one of the others voiced concern for the elderly, those on fixed incomes, first-time homebuyers being priced out, or families already struggling with affordability in Clark County. image

Yet Democrats like Sue Marshall and Wil Fuentes have the nerve to tell voters that they are the party of the “working class,” that they are fighting for affordability. You’ve probably seen their propaganda signs claiming exactly that. Meanwhile, while you’re at work, they are raising your taxes at every opportunity.

Here are the tax increases they approved for 2026:

  • General Fund Levy — 1% plus banked capacity (1.83734% increase)
  • Conservation Futures Levy — 1% plus banked capacity (16.142582% increase)
  • Road Fund Levy — 1% plus banked capacity (1.87661% increase)

imageTOTAL TAX INCREASE APPROVED FOR 2026: $13,514,878

Fast Facts

  • 2022 Salaries (before Baker Tilly compensation study): $84.6 million
  • 2026 Salaries: $117.6 million
  • Increase in salary costs in four years:39%
  • Clark County population growth during the same time:7.7%
  • National private sector inflation increase for wages: 12-18%

A 39% increase with only 7.7% population growth.

That is not sustainable.

That is not “affordability.”

And it is definitely not “working for the working class.”

Councilor Belkot has pursued legal counsel and has been advised her case has strong merit and will likely set precedent when fully adjudicated. This will be a long, and expensive litigation. Please consider supporting this action.

The voters of Clark County have voted to reject light rail in Clark County on three separate occasions. At the March 18, 2025 Clark County Council meeting approximately 150 citizens were in attendance with several dozen offering public testimony. Easily 80% of those who spoke during the 2-1/2 hours of comment were there to support Michelle and oppose the actions of the other council members.

Evidence will prove this was an orchestrated hit job on Councilor Belkot. Please support our only County Councilor who is standing for her constituents, and please pray for her as this understandably has taken a toll.
