Belkot Wins! Chartisha Admits To PDC Violationsimage

Michelle Belkot sent out a press release last week declaring victory in the Clark county council district 2 race.

The Press Release said that this week "the Clark County Elections Department reported Michelle Belkot expanded her lead over Chartisha Roberts by 3,432 votes, and with only 1,700 ballots left to count, clinches the District 2 Council seat.

Michelle Belkot thanked her supporters with “Thank you to the 40+ fantastic volunteers, including many families and children, generous donors, and District 2 voters! My campaign wouldn’t have been successful without your help, and voter numbers certainly reflected that. People want action, and I clearly articulated solutions and our community responded.”

Belkot’s Campaign Manager, Rob Anderson, stated “We ran a campaign based on commonsense values of less government overreach, lower taxes, tough on crime by supporting Deputies, and an overall approach of being really honest with voters on Michelle’s positions. Voters are tired of getting happy talk with no action. Michelle was refreshingly honest with voters sharing her experience and how she plans to tackle the county's challenges, and the voters responded favorably.”

Once sworn in at the beginning of the year, Michelle will get to work on the actions she promised, and the voters now expect. Those actions include raising awareness of the mostly ignored drug crisis; supporting the police to help bring down crime, and beginning to evaluate homeless services with a “reduction-based” strategy."

ALSO THIS WEEK... Chartisha sent an email, on her behalf, to the PDC admitting that she committed the violations I charged her with and possibly more. It appears that Clark County dodged a bullet because it's clear that Chartisha doesn't take public trust seriously and can't even manage her own campaign accounts. Chelsea Harrison's Killer Sentence Reduced... Thanks To Monica Stonier

image

Friday, I sat in the courtroom with several in the community, including Jeremy Baker, to support the family of Chelsea Harrision who is going through the nightmare of watching their beloved Chelsea killer beat a life sentence. Roy Russell did receive the max resentencing which means he could be out as early as 5 years from now rather than a life sentence. It's completely mindblowing to me that people would vote for someone like Monica Stonier who would bring this travesty upon her own community but unfortunately she was re-elected.

CURE THE VOTE!

Take These Three Actions NOW To Help Joe Kent & Don Benton

STEP ONE: Check the status of your ballot (it's not a vote until it's accepted)

STEP TWO: Share with others and encourage them to check their ballot status

STEP THREE: Help cure ballots

Act now on the above three steps... it's the only chance we have to turn this election around.

Ballot Status Categories

  • Sent
  • Ballot has been marked as sent by the county (date may be in the future)
  • Received
  • Ballot has been received, but signature has not been reviewed.
  • Accepted
  • Signature review has been completed, the voter has been credited with voting, and the ballot is accepted.
  • Rejection/Challenged + Challenged Reason
  • Signature/ballot has been challenged. The county election official will contact the voter.

The Kent Campaign is leading the effort to cure ballots. Curing ballots means they have been rejected (most of the time it's signature related) and will not count unless they are "cured."
