REFORM CLARK COUNTY WORKSHOP THIS TUESDAY!!!
The next REFORM Clark County RCC Workshop is September 20th, which will begin the 30-DAY COUNTDOWN TO BALLOTS BEING AVAILABLE. We must regather the troops and prepare for the final phase of the general election.
We didn't have a workshop in July because of the Candidate Forum and took August off but it's time now to saddle up and get ready to help the November elections be successful with our
It's not good enough to just vote, we must volunteer and help good candidates win and that takes work from now till mid-November.
We want to stop playing defense and go on offense and make changes that are going to move our county, our communities, back into law and order as our Constitution prescribes.
WE MUST WORK NOW SO WE CAN CELEBRATE IN NOVEMBER
We all live busy lives but our system of government requires vigilance and engagement so that corruption and tyranny can't take over.

STRIKE OVER? ON FRIDAY THEY HEARD THE TRUTH. DID THAT SHAPE THE OUTCOME?
When the REA (Ridgefield Education Association) heard we were going out with parents for a counter-protest they moved all the striking teachers to one location... in front of the RACC where I was going to be. They were hoping to intimidate parents but I saw this as God moving them to one location so they could hear the truth that their union leaders weren't telling them. That the same law that gave them a right to collective bargaining as public employees also was very clear not to give them the right to strike (RCW 41.56.120).
For two hours they listened to me reciting the history of that law and why it's essential that they follow the law. I gave them words of encouragement while denouncing their union leaders as corrupt. I also let them know I wasn't out there supporting the RSD... they are corrupt as well but as far as I could see they weren't breaking the law like the REA.
Here are some important aspects of the law...
- The law which authorizes collective bargaining for teachers specifically provides that, “Nothing contained in this chapter shall permit or grant any public employee the right to strike or refuse to perform his or her official duties” (RCW 41.56.120).
- In 2006, the State Attorney General’s Office issued an opinion on the legality of public employee strikes, concluding that: “In Washington, state and local public employees do not have a legally protected right to strike. No such right existed at common law, and none has been granted by statute.”
- The website for the State Office of Financial Management bluntly notes that state employees “are not permitted or granted the right to strike or refuse to perform their official duties.”

I was stunned at the teacher's callousness that they were presenting but I told them I believed most of them were good and the REA was not acting for their best because they were encouraging them to break the law. Some ridiculed and some tried to intimidate me by videoing and taking pics of my car. Right after I left REA organized some "parents" to go to the district office and cause a fuss and pound on windows. These are the tactics of thugs and gangsters. I was hoping to help expose them and speak on behalf of the parents that feel so intimidated and bullied by the Teachers' union and some teachers.
