Joseph knew the sovereignty of God. Joseph in the pit knew God. Joseph as a slave knew God. Joseph as a prisoner knew God. Joseph forgotten by the cupbearer knew God. Joseph as second to Pharaoh knew God. More importantly God knew Joseph. God held Joseph in His hand through all the twists of his life.

We often feel forgotten. We ask if God even cares about us. We want to know if we are really in God’s great plan. We need to understand that we are as much a part of God’s plan as Joseph. We are the people that are called to be ambassadors of God as if He were making His appeal through us. Really, if you are one of God’s children, then you are part of His great rescue mission. You are not rescuing people from a temporary famine, but from eternal death. This is God’s great plan. Joseph knew the sovereignty of God, and so must you.
