this is my craft I'm dedicated to mastering

Dear ,

I've always been entranced by someone who delivers, performs and creates in a way that shows the hours they've put in mastering their craft.

The way a dancer dances. A singer sings. An entrepreneur shares their message with passion and wisdom. A leader mentors and guides their team.

It's soooo bloody sexy, if you don't mind me saying, haha. Like seriously, it turns be on big time.

As I get older, I'm no longer easily impressed.

It's easy to spit out facts and figures and showcase one's credentials...but I can go to ChatGPT for that.

Knowledge may be impressive, but it’s the embodiment of that knowledge that earns my respect.

Embodiment shows someone's dedication and discipline—qualities that are rare in a world full of distractions.

So I asked myself— What is the craft I am mastering?

I've had many people tell me I'm so good at what I do— clients, audience members, mentors... but I feel like I didn't have the answer.

You see, I've spent years getting good at storytelling, speaking, writing, communicating my my message on stage, online and in conversations. But I never saw these things as my "craft". They were mediums of expression. What is my craft?

One day, it hit me.

The craft I am dedicated to mastering is this— shifting someone's state of being.

I started getting obsessed with emceeing since I was 15 because I loved how I could shift the energy of the room within seconds simply with a mic and my voice.

It could be 8am, everyone looks tired, and the moment I step on stage and introduce the event, people's eyes perk up. Wow— it felt powerful! More than anything, it felt fulfilling. I could lift someone's day just like that!

Overtime, as I started speaking, delivering workshops and coaching. I realised I could do the same with my words and presence.

I felt it myself too.

For 21 years I've been an expert at numbing myself— from emotions, from pain, from any hope of a better life so I wouldn't be disappointed.

And then just like magic, it took ONE moment to jolt me out of the pain I've created for myself. The moment I met my first mentor, who shared with me a perspective that changed my life.

Since then, I've had many moments that shift me into a constantly evolved state of being.

The ONE comment my past business coach told me that doubled my monthly business revenue.

The ONE trip that broke me out of being a chronic workaholic.

The ONE conversation with a friend who showed me it was okay to be vulnerable and be fully myself, changing the way I see friendships forever.

It doesn't take a long time to change your life (or someone else's life). I've witnessed it first-hand, how ONE thing, ONE moment, ONE act, shifted me— from dejected to hope, from disappointment to courage, from loss to faith.

This is my craft— shifting someone's state of being, whether it is through speaking, writing, or simply being present.

And the amazing thing is, I'm already doing it, through the process of Owning My Voice (which I've always been talking about).

This craft combines all of my passions: effective communication, artful storytelling, human psychology, people skills, sales and marketing, personal development and spirituality.

Now I've two questions for you:

1 - What is your craft?

It doesn't have to be complex, and it doesn't have to be something someone else is doing. I personally am a multi-hyphenate. The craft I've coined is a combination of a lot of things (haha). The idea of identifying your craft helps you keep the bigger picture in mind, so that you don't get caught up in the pitfalls along the way. You're in it for a long haul after all.

2 - What are some of the ONE things that have changed the course of your life?

Take this time to be grateful for it. If those ONE things did not happen, how would you be instead? Allow yourself to receive and live in the state of abundance.

💌 An invitation for you 💌

As someone who is mastering your craft, I can't even tell you just how powerful it is to be surrounded by people who are doing the same. It's electrifying.
