Lessons I've learnt from Successful and Happy people (with cute pics)

Hey ,

November is my birthday month - so it's especially a month of reflection and gratitude. As I look back at 2024, one of the biggest gifts I'm grateful for is the gift of unexpected connections ❤️

In 2024 alone, I've been to 8 countries, 3 global community gatherings, and made new friends all around the world.

For the first time ever, I felt normal. Back home, I'm usually the weird one, and my parents often tell me that I "dream too big". "Your 20s is for you to hustle... what are you doing travelling around here and there??"

But this year, the amazing people I've met from all around the world have shown me this: Not only is it possible to live life fully while building a successful career, living fully IS synonymous with having a successful career.

For my fellow hustlers, I'd love to share the 4 things I've observed from people who live successful, fulfilling lives...

But before that, here's a snapshot of the amazing new friendships I've formed this year.

❤️ I learnt about the power of connection and community at the Asian Wander Woman Summit in Taiwan. Though we were born in different parts of the world, we had a common understanding as Asian women, especially Asian women who love to travel and have big dreams and big hearts.

❤️ I saw my vision grow bigger and bigger, and my belief strong and more solid as I attended Simone Seol's workshop in Vegas. To see (and hug) this coach that has completely transformed the way I saw business and marketing, was huge! I witnessed the strength of her community which was built by her rock solid thought leadership and courage to own her voice. This trip to Vegas and LA also showed me the immense grace and love I can receive... new friends who opened their hearts and their homes to me as I navigate a foreign land.

❤️ My friend's amazing birthday weekend that got me to dream even bigger..! I met Ivy at the first ever Asian Wander Women Summit in Taiwan earlier this year (she's a co-founder) and she invited me to her birthday weekend party in Spain. She threw the most Ivy birthday weekend by gathering her friends at a mansion in Spain to compete like we are in the Olympics (but in this case, Camp Ivy). She's a very competitive person in the best way possible, so you can guess who won, haha.

It's rare to meet a woman in business who has big ambitions, yet values people, connection, has a thriving marriage, and intentionally enjoys life. Someone that speaks so much wisdom, yet is humble and easy to talk to. I met so many amazing entrepreneurs at the party that work smart and play hard! (I mean, having a birthday party with friends flying in from around the world is my literal dream.)

❤️ And of course, new realisations with old friends as we journey along. My sister and my constants that are kinda like family. These are people that make me think: damn what did I do in my past life to deserve these angels??

As I learn from these amazing friends and more, the 4 things I've observed from people who live successful, fulfilling lives are:

💎 1. Successful people walk towards their dreams, even if they don't know all the steps

I've met successful people in vastly different industries - the start up space, content creation, coaching, corporate world... the striking similarity is this: They did not fully know what they were doing when they first started.

They had a dream, a few starting steps, and radical optimism. Along the way, the wrong doors closed and the right doors opened.

💎 2. They know how to *really* enjoy life

Whether it is attending a winter rave party, planning girls trip in exotic locations, or buying luxury bags... they make it a priority to enjoy life.

Since young, I was taught: "Work hard and you'll live a good life". Problem is - I was taught to work hard, but not how to live a good life. I didn't even know what a good life was to me. Successful people have a clear vision of what that life looks like, and they create it.

💎 3. They value relationships

Successful people are selective of who they bring into their circle. They are amazing connectors. Also, all the boss babes I've met have such supportive and grounded husbands.

💎 4. Growth-mindset

No matter how successful they are, they are incredibly humble and value perspectives from others. They embrace transitions and pivots.

2024 has gifted me plenty of opportunities to expand my perspective and I'm excited to continue dreaming... even bigger!

I hope that this inspires you to believe in your dreams, and if you're finding it hard to do so... know that I believe in you, and you're gonna make it happen.

Love,

Rae
