How to Stand Out in the Saturated Social Media Space?

💬 Will the “influencer” era die down?

đź’¬ Social media is getting so saturated, is it getting impossible to build an outstanding brand?

đź’¬ With new social media channels coming up and shutting down, and the ever-changing algorithm, how can I even use it to grow my brand?

đź’¬ Anybody can call themselves a thought leader, how can I build a respectable brand and not get lost in the noise?


Having been building my brand on social media for the past 5 years, here's my take:


In the past when social media first started, it was enough to post pretty pictures or your “how to tips”. It was enough to jump on trends and use the trending audio.


Now, social media is flooded with all of these sub-par trendy content. Your audience are no longer paying attention to your 'hooks'. The creaters who stand the test of time are those who decide to become memorable personalities and insightful thought leaders.


Only those who are providing unique lasting value (beyond instant dopamine rush) will stay.

  • I.e. Their unique style of personality/ comedy creates a loyal following/ community
  • I.e. Their stories deeply connect, & their words create a profound shift in perspective for their audience


I notice that this is the case in the corporate and business world.


Being smart and delivering good work is expected, but doesn’t make you stand out.


After all, your paper qualifications can only get you in the door, but it is your unique voice and perspective that makes you valuable in the organisation — what you can contribute that sets you apart from others.


In business, you can have all the amazing awards but the reality is that people will only work with someone they like and trust. And the only way they’ll truly like and trust you, is when you choose to connect and show your authentic self.


We live in an era drowned in noise, bombarded by opinions, and drowning in information overload.


And it’s in this chaos where your audience is looking to you to lead — to connect with them, to guide them to make the aligned decisions and inspire them to take action. They’re not looking for information, they are craving for connection and inspiration.


Your voice, your unique perspective, and your truth matter more now than ever before. We're living in a time where authenticity is like gold, and if you’re not being real, you're missing out on the most valuable currency of the 21st century.


The world needs its LEADERS. Leaders who have an opinion, a voice that rises above the noise and reaches the right people.


When you take the time to know who you are: your identity, story, voice and brand — contributing with unique value and purpose becomes effortless.
