Can I be honest with you?

Very often, I can tell someone's potential pitfalls within our first conversation.

I don't tell them straight in their face of course. Reason being — it's not my place to, unless they're a coachee of mine and they've already given me permission to be (brutally) honest with them.

And the real reason is — few people can handle the truth, because it could lead to them questioning their current beliefs.

Some examples of these potential pitfalls are:

👀 They're working very hard to achieve career/business success, but their hard work will only lead to more frustration because they haven't healed the way they see themselves (self-image).

> > example: I recently chatted with this creator I personally follow and respect. She has almost 80,000 followers on TikTok and delivers amazing value through her content.

She shared how she feels like she's been sidelined from opportunities. When people reach out to her, it's either to get free advice, or when she shares her rates, it's always negotiated down. She wonders if it's because she's giving out too much free content... or maybe she's too young?

She mentions how she's learning more about content monetisation and strategy, and in my mind I already know this:

💡 How people treat you is a direct reflection of the way you treat yourself.

How they see you, is a mirror of how you see yourself.

If people reach out to you and expect free or low cost advice, there's a likely chance that you deep down believe you don't deserve to be paid or your advice isn't worth $XXXX.

👀 They're sharing all these strategies and thinking they are doing for their business. They have great ideas, yet every time I catch up with them... very little actually gets done.

> > example: I've had multiple peeps I met who are truly brilliant at what they do. But when I look at their social media... I've no idea what they are actually offering or what is the actual transformation they are "selling" to clients. I don't even know who their client is... SO like, I can like them as a person, but I've no idea how to hire them or who to recommend to them as a client.

When I scroll on their social media, they are doing many general type content (i.e. "What is xyz") without talking about the product or service they are providing. The are doing a lot of stuff - i.e. Posting pretty content, attending events, meeting people... But there doesn't seem to be an actual strategy and intention with what they are doing.

💡 Very often for these people, their greatest obstacles are:

• They don't have a strong enough desire to get results.
• They have subconscious fears, doubts, imposter syndrome that stops them from taking real action.
• Their brain is too tired doing busy work that they don't have the capacity to pause, reflect, and revise their course of action.
• They are not listening to their inner voice.

Like I mentioned, I can tell someone's potential pitfalls within our first conversation.

How?

From their facial expressions, body posture, their (subconscious) choice of words, and their overall energy.

And guess what? Your ideal clients can sense these too. They may not articulate it the way I'm doing now, but they CAN sense it, and that's when their gut will tell them "don't work with him/her", or "go see if other people can give a cheaper price".

Basically, you're not giving them HELL YES energy. You're seen as a commodity, not a priority.

Because let's be honest, do YOU even see yourself as a priority? Do YOU see yourself as one-of-a-kind?

If the answer is no, then you know what you gotta work on.

Strategies are important. But tending to your soul is the number 1 foundation.

Otherwise you're just gonna be fighting an uphill battle.
