Hello, hello!
Big things are coming in August, including the release of the second edition of Jaywalking! I promised to give you an opportunity to get the second edition at a sale price, because I know many of you already bought the book in novella form. So, I quietly lowered the price from $4.99 to $2.99, this week only. If you already pre-ordered, then no worries, you will be charged the lower price already on release day. If you haven't pre-ordered the book yet and you plan to buy it, then now is the time!
I distributed ARCs a couple weeks ago and some of the reviews have already come in, and they've all been more or less glowing, which makes me so happy and I hope will encourage you to give the book a try if you've been unsure. <3

What I'm reading
I have been listening to the audio books in the Red Dirt Heart series by N.R. Walker. I think I may love this story even more in audio! Joel Leslie delivers such great performances.
Do you have a favorite audiobook narrator? I'm more than just curious... I'm entertaining the notion of producing my Wild Ones series in audio. If I did, who do you think would be a good fit for the books? Also, do you prefer when books with more than one point of view have one narrator, or two?
What I'm writing
In addition to Night & Day, which will begin arriving chapter-by-chapter in this very email beginning next week, I'm working on a short story set in the universe of the last newsletter serial, Undertow! Undertow is an mm romantic adventure set in an original fantasy world called Sihr, where the only land is man-made and the human population survives through a combination of ingenuity and magic.
This story new story will also be mm, but with new characters of a new creed, caught up in a sort of Romeo-and-Juliette situation in that they come from rival families.
Here's a bit of the rough draft, if you're curious...
“You’re here,” Noa said, his eyes wide and his voice hushed. “I saw the Ruset raft when we came in, and I hoped—”
“You shouldn’t have hoped,” Bram said bluntly. “There’s nothing to hope for.”
Noa’s brow knitted. He had heavy eyebrows, and Bram had always thought he looked a little frightening when he scowled. But that had been when they were boys. Now that Noa was taller and powerfully built, his hair over-long and braided back from his face messily, he was truly intimidating. “I don’t believe you.”
“You’re Donset!” Bram exclaimed, pointing at Noa’s chest, “And I’m Ruset!” he added, pointing at his own. “What don’t you believe about that?”
“I don’t believe it should matter!” Noa said, with an easy conviction that made Bram falter. Noa had always been like that, and yet somehow Bram had forgotten just how convincing he could be when he believed he knew what was right. Especially when Bram wanted an excuse to agree with him.
Which he didn’t want, not right now. It had been two years; they weren’t lovesick classmates anymore. They were men, sworn Divers of their creed, and they were both loyal to their families.
That last thought made Bram’s stomach twist, and suddenly he couldn’t look at Noa anymore. He did what he’d been about to do before Noa had interrupted him, and turned and ran toward the docks.
Focus on Cowboys and Ranchers
This great promotion of mm cowboys and rancher romances ends today, so don't miss your chance to check out the list, which contains several books that are on sale.
Have a great week!
xo,
Rachel
