Memorial Day creeps up slowly on us once again. You know what that means, yes? That's right, Combo Breaker weekend! One of the biggest fighting game events that isn't EVO, it's still an event I very eagerly wish to attend, both as an artist selling his craft, and as an attendee watching the pros smash their buttons. Perhaps one day, maybe even as a contender...!?

Thankfully I was able to watch a good amount of streams this time! I think AT&T Fiber being installed after the move was a big contributor; Twitch never wanted to work on my smart TV nor phone with UVerse, but now I could watch on both with little to no interruptions. Is... is this what true power feels like? 😧

Ruthless Demon

A little late to the Tekken 8 hype, but here's my rendition of Reina, one of the newer additions to the cast. This background in particular kicked my ass, specifically those black wisps. Every one of them was drawn painstakingly by hand with the Pen Tool. It took a few days just to get them done alone.

You can see the detail of them better in the sketch here. And yes, I am very insane!

New Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evo Sticker Designs

We're indeed still making some new Mega Evo stickers! Here's Gengar, Skarmory and Absol. Got plenty more to come, so keep an eye out.

Grizzly's BBQ & Steakhouse Logos

Finished logos for "Grizzly's", a fictional restaurant chain I've made up to work on logo and brand design. I need to flesh out my portfolio with more samples of graphic work, so I'll be making more assets using the logo soon. A version for a seafood grille is also in the works!

One of the more interesting characters I'd been hoping to tackle someday was the Predator. Good thing I got plenty of practice drawing forest/jungle settings from my story...

For Emblemcon, I drew two characters from the (sadly not all-too-popular) mobile game Fire Emblem Shadows, Shadow Robin and Shadow Ephraim. The game is similar to Clue in that you have to find a fake, or" Shadow", amongst your allies, and they take on these sick-looking bestial forms.

Planning to make more of them and turn the designs into stickers for next Emblemcon.

I also recommend taking a good few minutes and scrolling through joemadart.com, a gallery dedicated to the work of one of my favorite artists, Joe Madureira, who has done work for Marvel and is the creator of the "Darksiders" video games.

I've been aiming to draw more influence from his style into some of my works, as I have done with Boris Vallejo and his awesome backgrounds. With Joe Mad, I'm enamored with how he draws effects, such as light, fire, smoke and water, and wish to study how he creates them.
