Heya! Did you know? Next month will be the 1st year anniversary since I've started writing this newsletter? Can you believe a year has already transpired? I sure as hell can't...

If you've stuck around to hear me babble all this time, or if you've just recently joined in the last few months, I truly cannot thank you enough for deciding that I am, indeed, worth your time.

Speaking of anniversaries in April, the 20th will be the anniversary of one of my favorite games of all time, Okami. This game is one of the major inspirations that drove me into creating my own story to tell, with my own characters and world.

Be sure to read to the end to see what I've planned to celebrate this most grand occasion!

~ 🐈FORSAKEN🐦‍⬛ ~

What you've all been (hopefully!) waiting for: I have updates on my dark fantasy story, "FORSAKEN".

I'm giving all my characters a fresh new look, as most of my art of them is all old and outdated. Here's my first work featuring the main character, Amqueela.

Also known as the "Soul Ripper" for his violent and ruthless conduct, Amqueela was originally born as an eagle, seated as King on the throne of the Sky, in the Kingdom of the Higher. The Higher are a race of birds who see themselves as divine beings. Amqueela was a tyrant, destroying those who rejected him, and a wielder of Dark magics, bestowed upon him via blessings by a dark sorcerer.

One day, the Higher Gods confronted Amqueela about these dark offerings and banned him from his throne, robbing him of his power of flight and forcing him to fall to the world below the clouds, on the peninsula of Jigoku. There, Amqueela begged the sorcerer for help, only for them to betray the former King, stealing his Soul and thus turning him into a white panther, a member of the Forsaken tribe of beast cats, as well as robbing him of his magic powers, or "Ether".

Here are previous works of him going as far back as 2016...

Finally, the first 3 pages of the Prologue have been drawn up and inked! Here is a preview of the first two:

Page 1 showcases the majesty of the Kingdom of the Sky; a sprawling landscape of clouds and mountains, dotted by trees of immeasurable size. Bathing pools and waterfalls provide areas of rejuvenation for the Higher. The twin suns keep the Sky lit in an almost never-ending twilight, shading the Sky in a brilliant gold and pink radiance. In the distance, the Higher's castle, the Shimmering Manor, can vaguely be made out, its imposing presence almost faded into the clouds.

Page 2 shows a member of the Higher leaving the safety of their Kingdom to traverse the world below, carrying a small package in its talons. In a hurry, it drops the package into a forest, and lands with a bone-shattering crunch. The package unfurls, revealing a baby eagle, gasping for breath from a fractured lung. Its wing is also freshly broken from the fall, as rain drops begin to pour down...

I'll continue to provide updates when I can. I look forward to introducing you to the world that has been brewing in my brain these last +10 years!

Everybody loves some Deadpool. I knew I had to do something extra for him when I finally drew the mouthy merc... so I included an alt version, with the perspective from his camera phone.

Void Sneks

My Void Sneks are done! I'll be tossing these little scamps onto a sticker sheet, the first I've ever done, and throw them up on my store very soon.

Progress on my next OC "refurbishment project", featuring the secondary main character of "FORSAKEN", Laurada. She's always been one of my favorite OCs to draw.

Some new original work. I'd seen this guy on an album cover and I really wanted to draw them in my own take.

Glacius from Killer Instinct (2013). After finishing Gargos, I really wanted to draw more characters from the KI series, and my brain decided to draw the big ice alien.

I'm still looking to fill up my Graphic Design portfolio, so I'm making up more logos.

Here's a mascot I made up for a BBQ restaurant; I never liked the idea of pigs being used as mascots for a BBQ joint, so I thought to put a bear front-and-center instead.

I'm also making a steakhouse variant, changing the text, the ribs on the fork to a steak, and the pig head on the bear's hat to that of a bull (WIP).

I'll be at the Great Lakes Mall in Mentor, Ohio, on April 4th at the Oliver's Marketplace, in front of the Dillard's.

I will also be running a table at Emblemcon again this year, from May 7-10. Emblemcon is an online-exclusive convention, started during the COVID Pandemic in 2020, that celebrates all things Fire Emblem, the strategy games developed by Intelligent Systems.
