Why: Childbirth education helps to increase confidence for labor and delivery, improves the success of lactation (if this is a goal), aids in communication with the healthcare team and leads to informed decision making for expecting parents. Childbirth preparation also allows the partner to be an active participant in all aspects of care allowing them to care for the birthing parent and newborn baby!
