your weekly pause 008: your summer thing

Jun 07, 2026 11:27 pm

Hey mama,

It's summer... and I am already feeling the sun, the breeze, and the vibezzzz. My getaways are booked, more trips are being planned, and I'm pulling out my bikinis, preparing to live a little easier for the next few months. The truth us that I haven't been this excited for summer in a while.

Probably because last summer was all about celebrating my son's high school graduation and getting him ready for his first semester in college in Ireland — all while navigating my very first anxiety attack, spontaneous hive breakouts (which I'm still taking medication for), and my hair falling out. Shit, I'm just happy to be on the up and up this summer. And, needless to say, I'm paying very close attention to my nervous system, taking my rest seriously, and not overdoing a damn thing. It's not worth it... I hope you do the same.

Cheers to summer 2026, yours and mine🥂.

The Pause:

What's one thing you're looking forward to doing this summer... for you? Not for your kids or anyone else. Just for you. It can be anything: taking a solo trip, losing 10 lbs, organizing your closet, visiting your college bestie, cutting your hair. Mine is finishing my book.

Now take out a piece of paper (or open the Notes app on your phone) and write that thing down with this date next to it: Tuesday, September 22, 2026. That's the last day of summer. Let's hold each other to it.

My Recommendation:

OK, so I tried reading "Start with Yourself" by Emma Grede book and it was boring (all that hype🙄). So, I put it down. But, if you enjoy reading and love a good story, I can 100% recommend Bozoma Saint John's memoir. Check it out here!

That's it for this week. Don't forget to subscribe to the YouTube channel (a new video dropped today).

With love,
