Spring is nearly upon us and with it come warmer days, lighter nights, spring flowers and a Resource Bank update that will definitely lift your spirits!
We’re celebrating International Day of Happiness on the 20th of March and looking forward to the start of the Easter holiday with a pack of activities that are ideal for use in the run-up to the end of term…
😊 International Happiness Day
March the 20th is UN International Day of Happiness - a day that recognises and celebrates the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.
By promoting the well-being of our students, we can improve their learning experiences and aspirations - and help them lead happier lives.
Our International Day of Happiness resource pack is ideal for supporting your class to prioritise their well-being and understand more about what it takes to truly be happy.
As part of the resource pack students will:
- fill their Jars of Happiness as they think about what is most important to them and what makes them happy.
- look at the results of the Global Happiness Survey to understand what makes people happy around the world and make decisions as ‘Happiness Experts’ on how they might boost people’s happiness.
We’ve also spotlighted our Mental Health and Wellbeing resource which includes a series of challenges that explore common causes of mental health and well-being issues, the things you can do to improve the well-being of yourself and your friends and where you can go for support.
This is a great set of resources to focus on in tutor time or to be used in PSHE lessons to help raise a smile on this important day!
🐣 Easter Resource Pack
Easter is just around the corner but there’s a bit of a problem… the Easter bunny has gone on strike!
Our Easter Activity Pack challenges your students to save the day by taking on some themed careers challenges that will help the easter celebrations go ahead!
They’ll be challenged to design their own Easter eggs, and then put their problem solving skills to the test in some of the job roles that help get chocolate eggs from the cocoa bean to the supermarket shelf.
From chocolate buyer to food scientist, they’ll use their knowledge and skills to save Easter! To finish, we’ve included some fun trivia and an Easter crossword.
This Activity Pack is ideal for use during tutor time or as an Easter-themed homework activity. You can download the Activity Pack here (and the answers here).

👩🔬 New Careers…
We have added another three Careers resources to add to our ever-growing bank of resources exploring individual career options.
These explore a single career through contextualised challenges that put curriculum knowledge and key skills to the test in ‘real world’ scenarios relating to that career path.
Each resource also includes key job information, discussion prompts, seven contextual challenges and a ‘boss level’ which takes students through a series of three story-driven challenges.
This month we’ve added:
There are now more than 50 individual Careers resources within the Resource Bank here so there is plenty of variety for students to explore (including four Future Jobs resources too!)
Remember there is also a Career Exploration worksheet for students to complete to reflect on the career they chose to explore.
