Hi ,
It's National Careers Week next week!
The Panjango Resource Bank is here to help out with a menu of resources that will help you to deliver exciting and meaningful careers lessons with your students.
The team here at Panjango are always passionate about NCW as we believe that careers education and applied learning should be the golden thread that runs through the curriculum so that all students are able to find their purpose and fulfil their potential.
We also have updates on several new resources that have been added to the Resource Bank. Read on to find out more...
π National Career's Week
National Careers Week runs from the 6th to the 11th of March and aims to be a celebration of careers education across the UK.
We know that you are very busy and that the amount of careers information out there can be overwhelming, so we've created a Career's Week planner of quick, easy-to-deliver careers activities to embed contextual and gamified learning into your Careers Week programme.
All of the resources are already in the Resource Bank. Simply select the activities you'd like, download them and you're ready to go!
The activities are primarily designed to be scheduled into tutor time but we've also included suggestions for homework assignments, differentiated SEND activities and full lessons if your timetabling allows.
You can download the planner here.
π Cool Jobs that Change the World!
The next resource in our 'Cool Jobs' series is Cool Jobs that Change the World.
This resource explores 17 exciting jobs that relate to issues that are important to young people and that have the potential to change the world in positive ways - as well as a further three more as part of the bonus 'Great Childcare Debate' challenge.
Students can use the interactive challenge selector, to choose their own journey to change the world! From Glaciologists mapping ice flows in climate change research, to Humanitarian Strategists planning and delivering aid to those most in need, there will be an issue to which every student can relate.
This resource would be great to explore during PSHE or Sociology lessons but alternatively, form tutors could do a challenge or two a day with students during form time.
You can see all of our Cools Jobs resources, as well as other Sector focused resources, here. Look out for future updates as we continue to expand the Cool Jobs series over the coming months!
π§βπ€βπ§ Healthy Relationships
The latest in our series of Issues resources, this Healthy Relationships resource helps students to build healthy relationships, understand the importance of their self-relationship, and spot the warning signs in an unhealthy relationship.
Relationships can sometimes be difficult to talk about for teenagers and so this resource aims to encourage discussion so that young people can be more informed about their relationships with others - and more equipped to ensure their relationships are healthy ones.
A great resource to add to your PSHE curriculum or to use during the upcoming Mental Health Week (18-24 May).
Our growing collection of Issues resources also includes: black history; climate change; drugs & alcohol; homelessness; knife crime; mental well-being; first aid
and body image.
π©ββοΈ Amazing Anatomy
Okay, this one isn't strictly a careers resource (though it does help students understand more about the medical specialisms relating to different parts of the body).
But our Amazing Anatomy resource could certainly earn you some brownie points with the Biology and PE departments!
The resource provides bite-sized information, a fun fact and a challenge, for 11 key areas of the human body.
This is another resource we worked with a group of junior doctors to create. It's great as a fun revision activity or for a quick plenary activity at the start of a lesson.
More coming soon...
This isn't meant to be a full monthly batch of uploads, but we wanted to get in touch before the start of Careers Week. So we'll be back very soon with more new resources to help enrich your careers activities in the run up to Easter!
Remember you can access more than 250 different careers lessons, games and resources in the Resource Bank here.
You can also see an updated Index of all the games and resources in the Resource Bank here.
As always, we're keen to hear any feedback or requests you may have and we hope you enjoy using everything we've created for your students!
