Hi ,
As the Summer holidays draw to a close, we hope you’re heading back into school refreshed and excited to be back amongst your students - and ready to inspire and guide them through the next phase of their learning journey!
We know that the start of a new term can sometimes be overwhelming too, with lots of planning and meetings - not to mention lots of new names to learn! To help lighten the load, we’ve added a great selection of new resources to the Panjango Resource Bank for you to download and use right away.
Read on to see what we’ve been busy creating…
SEND resources
We've had numerous requests from subscribers to create resources specifically for use with SEND students. So we've been busy over the summer creating our first batch of 12 SEND resources.
These include complete lesson powerpoints for Maths and English EL1, as well as a series of worksheets covering specific Maths and English topics - all related to the world of work!
To view our SEND Resource Map giving an overview of everything we're creating, click here. Or to access all the new SEND resources, click here.
We'll be adding more careers-themed SEND resources next month including complete lessons for Maths and English EL2 and EL3 - as well as more fun worksheet activities. So watch this space for more!
Charity Week
5-11th September is Remember a Charity Week which aims to engage people with the often unseen work that charities do and inspire the public to donate time or money to support their vital work.
So we've created a Charity Week resource that offers your students the chance to experience the wide variety of careers that are on offer in real charities across the country - everything from Guide Dog Trainers to Research Scientists and Translators to Lifeboat Mechanics!
This is a great resource to use during PSHE or tutor time where students can challenge themselves in real life scenarios that help make the world a better place.
The activity also encourages your students to consider how they can turn issues they are passionate about about into a rewarding career path.
World Cup Shootout!
The winter World Cup in Qatar will soon be upon and many students will be gripped by World Cup fever!
So what better way to engage students with careers than by using the World Cup as an opportunity to explore the wide range of professions that are needed to run a major tournament.
We've created a World Cup Shootout resource to help students understand what goes on behind the scenes at the World Cup - and put their knowledge and skills into practice in a range of football-themed challenges.
This simple-to-use resource can be run with a whole class of students, or with smaller groups.
Skills resources
We're close to completing our full batch of Skills resources and have uploaded two more this month exploring Teamworking and Work Ethic through contextual challenges.
Each of the Skills has a complete lesson PowerPoint as well as a Quick Blast worksheet for a shorter paper-based activity that is perfect for tutor time.
You can find all these new resources, as well as more than 200 existing ones, in the Panjango Resource Bank folder here.
We hope you enjoy the latest additions and we'll be back soon with more!
Jon and the Panjango Team
PS As always, let us know if you have any feedback or requests :)
