Hi ,
Summer has arrived and with it comes another batch of new additions to the Panjango Resource Bank!
Here’s what the Resource Bank has in store for your students this month…
101 Discussion Prompts
This is a resource we think will be fantastic for tutor time and PSHE.
Our new 101 Discussion Prompts resource offers 101 questions to prompt a vibrant discussion in your classroom.
Simply select a number and see where the conversation takes you!
The resource is ideal to engage students during tutor time as there are a range of questions based around careers, life choices, social and environmental issues or moral dilemmas.
The perfect resource to share with form tutors or have saved on your desktop with no planning needed!
The 101 Discussion Prompts resource can be found here (note: download and use in powerpoint for the animations to work).
Scheme Lessons
We've added another two lessons to our Explore, Experience, Thrive scheme of work (which comprises 35 lessons in total). The new lessons are:
Lesson 7b - Panjango Choices
We've added a lesson powerpoint and worksheet to help you make the most out of our digital careers game, Panjango Choices.
This is a fun and thought-provoking game which help students get to know each other - while getting them to reflect on their own aspirations, motivations, life choices and skills.
The new lesson plan and worksheet now turn the game into a complete lesson by incorporating a different perspective to appraising skills and demonstrating the benefits of getting the opinions of others when reflecting on our own qualities.
Lesson 15b - The Big Careers Quiz
The final lesson of the scheme sees students tackle our Big Careers Quiz to round off their career learning journey in a fun way.
This quiz challenges students to demonstrate their understanding of careers information and show the progress they have made so far on their careers journey. The bonus round of the quiz challenges students to take on The Impossible Careers Crossword!
We've also added a lesson plan and worksheet for Lesson 2B - Connecting Careers and the Curriculum to help subject teachers give core learning context and purpose.
These lessons, and the other 30+ in the scheme, can be found here.
Key Stage 2 resources
Our Key Stage 2 Science resources have received some great feedback from subscribers and we’ve added three more to our topic list.
These resources are all mapped to the KS2 Science curriculum and are perfect to use at the end of your topic to contextualise the classroom learning or to use as a fun assessment tool.
This month’s additions include:
- Animals and Humans
- Living Things and their Environment
- Plants
Our KS2 Maths resources are also well underway in their development and you should see these appearing over the summer to use with your planning for the next academic year.
The new Key Stage 2 resources can be found here.
Careers resources
Our ever-popular Careers resource section sees the addition of three new careers: Florist, Marine Biologist and Youth Worker.
We'll continue to expand this section of the Resource Bank so that students can individualise their learning and really focus on their interests and the career options that excite them.
There are now more than 50 individual Careers resources within the Resource Bank here so there is plenty of variety for students to explore and for subject teachers to link to their lessons.
Issues resources
Our latest Issues resource focuses on the important and tricky topic of Body Image.
The resource includes a wide range of contextualised challenges including how careers in social media and the fashion industry can help promote positive body image and improve self-esteem - as well as putting students inside the current Body Confidence Movement.
You can find this Body Image resource, and other Issues resources on topics such as Mental Health, Drugs & Alcohol, Knife Crime and Homelessness, here.
Accessing the Resource Bank
You can access the full Panjango Resource Bank in our Dropbox folder here.
Alternatively, you can continue to access the Resource Bank through your Gumroad account if you prefer.
We're working on some exciting new resources for next month including a Panjango World Tour to link careers to the Geography curriculum and allow students to explore countries around the world through careers this summer!
If you have any questions, feedback or need any help accessing the resources, please just hit 'reply' to this email and let's chat :)
Thanks as always for joining us on our mission to transform the way that young people learn.
