We're back with our final batch of new resources for 2023!
This month, we've focused on creating some fun festive-themed games and activities to reflect on the past year and link careers to the Christmas period.
We also have activities to help students plan ahead for the next year in their career learning journey - all alongside the usual additions to our core resources.
Here are this month's additions to the Panjango Resource Bank…
📜 Big Fat Careers Quiz of the Year
The Big Fat Quiz of the Year has now been running for 20 years and has become an end-of-year television staple in many households.
So we thought we'd use this ever-popular quiz format and give it our usual careers twist!
Our own Big Fat Careers Quiz of the Year offers 48 careers-themed questions across the categories of Sport, Music, Books, TV & Film, Viral Moments, Science & Technology, Headlines and Fun & Games.
You could try to complete all the questions in one big activity, break up the quix over the course of a week or find another creative way to make use of all the questions in the lead up to Christmas or as a fun back to school activity.
Note: there is the main quiz PowerPoint to guide the activity from your classroom whiteboard and then a team answer sheet and a teacher answer sheet.

🎅 Christmas Sales Challenge
With the introduction of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the Christmas sales period just keeps getting longer and longer every year!
So we’ve created a Christmas Sales Challenge to highlight some of the careers that are involved in the delivery of the busier shopping period of the year.
The worksheet activity includes five challenges looking at careers from Security Guard to Logistics Manager to get your learners thinking about how seasonal events can have a big impact on workloads and how problem solving skills can be used to overcome challenges.
Students could complete the worksheets independently during tutor time as a homework activity.

✍️ New Year Goals
We've also added a personal reflection and goal-setting worksheet activity to help students focus on developing themselves over the coming year.
Our New Year Goals activity tasks students with imagining and drawing their future self and then reflecting on what they have drawn and their priorities in life.
It also asks them to assess their skills and then think about ways they can continue to develop themselves personally, educationally and from a careers point of view.

💇 Current Jobs
We’ve continued to add to our collection of individual Current Jobs resources with the addition of two more roles: Hairdresser and Retail Store Manager.

📚 Reading Comprehensions
We’ve also added to our collection of careers-themed Reading Comprehensions with the addition of ones for Conservationist and Town Planner.
These comprehensions offer bite-sized careers information as well as a short description of a 'day in the life' of that job role, before posing a series of questions to check student's understanding.
The questions are built around the VIPERS reading prompts to link with the English reading curriculum.
These student-led worksheets are great to use as a homework activity, but would also make a great addition to tutor time, English lessons or a careers-linked lesson in any subject.

📰 The Panjango Post
The Panjango Post is also back with its monthly update. This month we've covered news stories including the first flight across the Atlantic using SAF fuel and a special anniversary for a certain jolly old fellow!
Each story features a short synopsis followed by a contextualised challenge to see how students would respond when placed at the heart of that story.

> Advent Calendar - a fun, Christmas-themed careers challenge for each day of the advent calendar
> Careers at Christmas KS3 version and KS2 version - contextualised challenges relating to a wide variety of jobs and the work they do each Christmas
> Santa Claus KS3 version and KS2 version - fun contextual challenges relating to the 'real' tasks that Santa must do each year to deliver presents to millions of children
