Hi ,
We hope you’ve had a relaxing Easter break and enjoyed the glimmers of sunshine!
As we enter into the final term of the year, we’re bringing you another batch of resources to help during this busy term when the focus turns to exam preparation and getting all of your learners motivated!
We’re celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd, bringing a fresh batch of individual Careers resources and finishing off our SEND collection - as well as spotlighting some existing resources that are perfect for those students that might be unsure of their next steps after exams.

🌍 Earth Day
April the 22nd is Earth Day! This day is marked by more than a billion people worldwide each year as a day of action to change human behaviour and call for policy changes to protect the planet.
There is no doubt that our learners will be at the forefront of the response to the climate crisis in whichever career path they choose to follow. Sustainability and environmentalism are becoming increasingly embedded into all careers. Equipping students with the information and skills needed will empower them to make an impact and drive change.
Our Earth Day resource pack does just that - providing your learners with key information and challenging them to show how they might make a difference in the world of work - and even start to make change happen now!
As part of the resource pack students:
- complete the Earth Day Action Challenge which encourages students and their families to make small changes in their daily lives that could add up to a big impact in protecting the planet.
- consider the carbon emissions of their daily activities using The Carbon Game.
- increase understanding of climate change and become more informed about the upcoming COP28 conference, and the different ways they can use their knowledge and skills to take action themselves.
We’ve also spotlighted our Climate Change ‘Issues’ resource which includes a series of challenges that explore how different professionals are responding to climate change in the workplace.
Our Earth Day pack is a great set of resources for tutor time or to be used in PSHE or Careers lessons to show how environmental issues are shaping the world of work.
🧑🌾 New Careers…
We have added another three Careers resources to our collection of more than 50 individual careers resources that we already have on offer.
These resources explore a single career through contextualised challenges that put curriculum knowledge and key skills to the test in ‘real world’ scenarios relating to that career path.
Each resource also includes a ‘boss level’ which brings together all of the skills required to tackle a challenging situation that might be faced in their chosen career.
The accompanying Career Exploration worksheet is designed to help students reflect on the career they have explored.
This month we’ve added:
We will continue to add to the individual Careers resource section in the coming months so that students can immerse themselves in and explore a variety of careers that match their interests.
✍️ SEND resources...
We've now completed our collection of SEND resources with the addition of challenge-based PowerPoints and worksheets for English for Everyday Life Level 2 and Level 3.
These additions complete our collection of SEND activities (for now at least) which now include a range of careers and sector exploration resources as well as a selection of resources for English and Maths across Entry levels 1-3.
You can view an overview of our SEND collection here and access the full folder of resources here.
🔦 In the Spotlight
For some of your learners, the Summer term can be stressful with all focus on exam preparation and making plans for the future. Naturally, some of them may not have a plan for their next steps and this may cause them to feel unsettled.
To help, we have spotlighted two existing resources from our Explore, Experience, Thrive scheme of work that can make a real difference in helping young minds focus on making decisions about their future.
Lesson 14a: Planning for the Future is perfect for running through with small groups unsure which steps to take next. The accompanying worksheet focuses learners in considering their interests and motivations when exploring possible careers.
Lesson 14b: My Choices encourages learners to think about decision making techniques and how to organise their thoughts when making any decision whether it be big or small.
The links above take you to the main powerpoint for each lesson but you'll find the full set of scheme resources (lesson plans, powerpoints and worksheets) in the scheme folder here.
We hope you enjoy our latest additions and look forward to hearing any feedback you may have - or if you have any requests for future resources.
The Panjango Resource Bank new includes more than 250 different careers lessons, games and resources in the Resource Bank here.
Have a great start to the Summer term,
Jon and the Panjango Team
