We're back already with a small but mighty batch of new additions to the Resource Bank!

We have new career exploration resources to coincide with Valentine's Day next week as well as the UK's current efforts to give lift off to its space industry.

We also have an exciting new medical mystery game which helps students develop a range of key skills while gaining an insight into the pressures and rewards of working within the medical profession.

💥 New Game 💥 A Day as a Doctor 👩‍⚕️

We're really excited to launch our new medical mystery game which challenges students to step into the shoes of a doctor and use the information available to make the correct diagnosis for each of their patients.

We worked with a team of final year medics at the University of Sheffield to create this fun and fast-paced game that mimics the experience and pressures of a busy day in the life of a doctor.

A Day as a Doctor will challenge your students to work as a team as they put their communication, problem solving and analytical skills to the test. They'll meet patients, assess their symptoms, make referrals and then interpret test results in order to make their diagnosis.

They'll then score points based on the speed and accuracy of their diagnoses and compete against other teams to see who coped better under the pressure!

As well as developing a range of important skills, this print-and-play game helps develop an understanding of different medical careers and allows students to discover whether a career in medicine is of interest to them.

After all the work that's gone into developing it, we're really pleased with how this game has turned out. So it's well worth a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the game and see how it could fit into your career learning activities. We believe the game is best suited to upper Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

💘 Careers + Valentine's Day

Love is in the air! Careers and Valentine's Day... a match made in heaven!

This latest addition to our Events collection explores the work that goes on for Valentine's Day each year - everything from Card Designers and Florists through to some more unusual careers that students might not have considered as being a key part of the celebrations.

This interactive resource is perfect to add some career learning to tutor time next week in a fun and engaging way. Designed for KS3 but easily adaptable for other age groups.

🚀 Cool Jobs involving Space!

The first resource in our new Cool Jobs series - Cool Jobs in the Outdoors - has proved a popular download with subscribers.

So we've now added Cool Jobs involving Space to the series for those that enjoy looking up at the stars and dream of being a pioneer in space technology!

This resource explores 17 exciting and pioneering jobs that work in the field of space technology and exploration - and a further 3 more as part of the bonus 'Mission to Mars' challenge.

Using the interactive challenge selector, students can choose their own journey exploring everything from Intelligence Analyst or Physicist here on Earth through to Martian Botanist or Astronaut for those that are keen to boldly go where no one has gone before!

Alternatively, form tutors could do a challenge or two a day with students during form time to link in with this exciting time for the UK Space Agency.

The new Cool Jobs series seek to offer students an insight into jobs that relate to work environments and purpose rather than arbitrary sectors. Watch this space as we continue to expand this series over the coming months!
