Hi ,
I hope your students aren't causing too much chaos on their first days back in school!
As they come back to lessons in school, we've got some exciting new resources for you to use to make their return to the classroom an enjoyable one!
Here's what's new this month...
30 Day Skills Challenge...
30-day challenges are taking the internet by storm!
So we thought we'd create our own to help students develop the skills they need in life after school - all through fun and interactive challenges that are great for family learning.
The Panjango 30 Day Skills Challenge presents a wide range of challenges from going on a litter pick to trying a new hobby, or delivering a presentation to doing a random act of kindness.
They don't need to be completed on 30 consecutive days (although some students may like to try!) but it could be 30 weekends, 30 weeks across the school year or just at their own pace in their own time.
Perfect for either the Easter or Summer holidays coming up too!
New 'impossible' activities...
We've uploaded two new resources that will work great on their own - but we believe will work even better when they are linked.
The first is a Careers Glossary which offers students definitions for around 50 key careers words and phrases.
But while this may be a useful resource, either as a reference point or an activity in itself, we recognise that it's not exactly the most fun way to impart vital careers information.
So we created.... the Impossible Careers Crossword!
This incorporates the glossary words into a mega crossword that students can complete independently, or they can race their friends or work in groups to complete it first.
Is it really impossible? No, but we thought the students would like the challenge!
However, given that careers terminology involves a lot of loooong words, then it is very hard. So using this as a follow on activity from the Glossary would work well, especially for younger students.
Core resources...
As always, we've added more of our core resources too. So this month we have...
A new Sector resource focusing on a range of careers in Engineering (featuring a Boss Level on the theme of a bridge collapse!).
Two more Subject resources giving real world context to more topics on the Chemistry curriculum.
Three new Careers resources exploring the work of an Intelligence Analyst, Journalist and the Army.
And a new Issues resource exploring the vital topic of Climate Change through our usual style of contextual challenges.
The resource covers the causes, consequences and solutions to climate change and also places students into the heart of a climate change protest.
Coming up soon...
We're delighted to have been granted an exclusive license by Prospects to The Real Game content now that the product is no longer available.
The content needs a big refresh as it's been many years since it's been updated, but we're going to be working to repackage the best of it Panjango-style i.e. into fun, gamified and contextualised formats wherever possible.
So over the next few months, we're working towards structuring all of Panjango's content into a scheme of work to enable you to use all of Panjango's games, activities and resources over a series of structured careers lessons.
Watch this space for further updates on this - as well as yet more new types of resources being released.
In the meantime, I hope you and your students are enjoying using Panjango's games and resources as much as we are creating them!
Kindest regards,
Jon and the Panjango Team
PS As always - you'll find the new resources added directly into your Library. Alternatively, click the link in the receipt email you received when you subscribed.
