Hi ,

Congratulations on making it through the first half term of the new school year! We know this will have been a busy one with students settling in, new names to learn and getting stuck into lesson planning for the year ahead.

To help lighten the load, we've added some great new resources to the Resource Bank to support you in delivering exciting careers lessons, themed activities linked to the calendar, and to generally add a little sparkle to your student's career learning journey!

SEND Scheme of Work

You asked, we responded! We are proud to launch our SEND-specific career learning scheme which already comprises more than 25 different lessons and activities - and is set to be expanded even more.

The scheme includes plenty of classic Panjango-style challenges and resources exploring the world of work in creative ways. We have also created a range of core English and Maths resources linked to Pearson's Entry Level 1, 2 & 3 pathways.

So how can you use these resources?

Careers & Skills Resources

All of our resources link to the world of work, but there are some resources focusing specifically on exploring careers, sectors and skills. These could be used flexibly during form, PSHE or career learning time.

Everyday Life Subject Resources

Our English and Maths for Everyday Life resources can be used in so many different ways. Just choose the right level and your learners will soon be applying their subject knowledge to a variety of work-related challenges.

Topic Worksheets

Our batch of Maths & English topic worksheets are still linked to the Pearson levels so it is easy to make sure you are choosing the correct activity. These are designed to be used for the main part of a lesson on a particular topic and are differentiated and fully editable. As always with Panjango, these worksheets focus on connecting careers and the curriculum.

Bonfire Night!

Remember, remember the 5th of November! We've created a fun interactive careers resource to coincide with the Bonfire Night celebrations.

The resource features a series of work-related challenges linked to jobs that ensure Bonfire Night goes ahead safely, and everyone has an enjoyable time.

Eveything from Chemist to Paramedic, we highlight the jobs that keep us, our pets and the environment safe during the big event.

This resource is perfect for use during tutor time as a team game or during PSHE lessons. The resource also includes key safety information to help students stay safe on Bonfire Night.

You can access our Bonfire Night resource here.

The Make a Difference Challenge!

With World Kindness Day approaching on 13th November, we want to challenge students to share a little kindness and make a difference to those around them in a variety of small ways.

This resource offers a checklist of 20 different things to do that will build confidence and empathy, and develop a range of key skills, all while making a small but positive difference to the world.

Whether it be raising funds for charity, recycling more plastic or just sharing a smile, these are small actions to tick off that can make a difference.

The resource also aims to open up discussion about the importance of taking positive action to better yourself and your community. You could even go on to create your own class list of actions to make a difference in the world!

Skills Resources

The addition of two new skills resources sees us complete our full set of the 10 core skills we mapped out in our Skills Framework.

The new resources, covering Character and Negotiation, will help students better understand these skills and then put them to the test as they step into the shoes of the professionals to tackle 'real world' problems relating to those skills.

Each of the skills has a complete lesson PowerPoint as well as a Quick Blast worksheet for a shorter paper-based activity so they can be used flexibly in different settings.

These resources are a great way of getting students working together as they build the skills that employers need in the modern world of work.

You can view our complete set of ten Skills resources in the Resource Bank here.

🔦 In The Spotlight

As we're now building up quite a back catalogue of resources, we wanted to spotlight a few that are particularly relevant at this time of year:

You can find all these new resources, as well as more than 250 existing ones, in the Panjango Resource Bank folder here.

As always, let us know if you have any feedback or requests otherwise we hope you enjoy using everything we've created with your students :)
