Hi ,
It's now been 12 months since we launched the Panjango Resource Bank!
What started as a trial concept with just 30 resources has now swelled to a wide-ranging selection of 170 files in total!
So we'd just like to say a big thank you for being the early adopters of our Resource Bank and staying with us as it has grown.
We have lots of exciting plans to keep it expanding in new and interesting ways over the next 12 months!
Right, lots to update you on this month, starting with a very important change...
A New Way to Access the Resource Bank...
We've previously used Gumroad to host all of our Resource Bank files. We were aware of some issues with this platform ourselves, and we've been listening to your feedback too.
So we've decided to transition away from Gumroad and, at least for now, go back to basics to make it as easy as possible for you to access all of our content.
Therefore, we've set up a DropBox folder as the simplest way for you to access all of our files.
Simply click the button below to access and download all the games and resources:
Please note: if you subscribed through Gumroad it won't change your subscription at all and we'll continue to keep Gumroad updated too if you still prefer that method.
We'll keep looking for the best possible platform to host all our Resource Bank content but any feedback you have would be gratefully received :)
Using DropBox has the benefit of allowing us to use sub-folders! So you'll now find separate folders containing the different types of files which should make it easier to navigate to the content you need.
Obviously, using DropBox as a simple interim solution isn't the most secure option so please don't share the link with anyone outside of your school.
Scheme of Work update...
Our focus over the past month has continued to be the completion of our Explore, Experience, Thrive scheme of work.
We've uploaded another batch of lessons and have now very nearly completed all of our core lessons (see here for a full overview of the scheme).
New additions include Exploring Career Paths, Finding Your Purpose, Careers and the Climate Crisis, Developing Skills for Life, Planning for the Future and Reflecting on our Journey.
We'll be uploading the remaining couple of core lessons over the next week, so check back soon for further additions to our career learning journey.
Spotlighted resources...
We'd like to spotlight a few resources that are particularly relevant at this time of year...
It's Black History Month throughout the month of October - and we have a resource dedicated to exploring Black History through contextual career-related challenges covering black culture, historical figures, equal rights and Black Lives Matter.
It was World Mental Health Day on Sunday so it's not too late to focus on this vital topic. Our Mental Health & Well-Being resource gets students completing interactive challenges exploring common mental health issues, ways of improving their own mental health, sources of support and how the class can work together to improve mental health. And the challenges are career-related!
And for something a little more light-hearted, to celebrate the upcoming festival of Halloween we have a fun Halloween resource exploring all the work that goes on in different careers to prepare for this celebration event.
Future correspondence...
We're conscious that we haven't been communicating with you as much as usual recently.
But we're now planning to send out a regular bi-weekly subscriber newsletter to keep you more updated on new resource uploads, and to provide useful information to help you make the most of all the content we are producing.
So watch this space for more!
Next steps...
Our immediate focus is to complete the remaining lessons in the Explore, Experience, Thrive scheme. The scheme is something we plan to keep honing and expanding so it is unlikely it will ever be "finished" - but we're aiming to get the initial batch of 34 core and optional lessons completed over the next few weeks.
We'll also be continuing to expand our core bank of resources, with more resources focusing on specific Careers, Subjects, Sectors, Skills, Events, Issues Journeys etc.
But we want to get creative with our content too! So we will be working us a team to come up with new game and resource formats to continue making careers the most fun, engaging and meaningful subject of all!
Thank you as always for subscribing and joining us on our journey to create a world of experiential learning!
I hope this finds you well and speak more soon,
Jon Maiden
Co-Founder of Panjango
