Train the Heart for a Changing World
Dec 11, 2021 7:01 pm
Dear friends,
Big news: I'm writing a new book!
For years I've wanted to create a practical guide for developing inner resources to meet the challenges of our times. The book is tentatively called "Training the Heart: Skills for a Changing World."
Each chapter will focus on cultivating a quality relevant to our changing world: patience, energy, steadiness, courage, joy, resolve and more.
I believe we each have a role to play in the healing and transformation of our world.
So I'm taking a unique approach to this project by making it an interactive journey that draws on the shared wisdom of this community.
As I see it, a big part of what's needed in our world today is a shift to more collaborative structures and the ability to honor shared wisdom. It's a move away from the old paradigm of the lone hero / heroine, and towards the truth of interdependence.
That's why I'm inviting you to join me in learning together. For those interested, I'll send excerpts of my writing twice a month, inviting you to practice with the material and share your feedback: challenges, insights, etc. Periodically, I'll hold a live online session to discuss your experiences.
With your permission, I may incorporate stories you share into the book. In this way, it can reflect a broader experience than I would be able to provide alone, and be that much more relevant to our world. (All contributors will be included in the acknowledgements). I'll also be donating a portion of the book's proceeds to help support communities bearing the brunt of the climate crisis.
Add your name here to be a part of "Training the Heart." I'm excited to dig into this new project, and hope you'll join me! (Link broken? Copy and paste this into your browser: orenjaysofer.com/training-the-heart ).
Warmly,
