Dear friends, 

Many of you have expressed interest in updates about our pregnancy, so I’m hopping online to send a short note of celebration and gratitude. 

It is with a full heart, immense joy, and sleepy eyes that I share the wonderful news that my wife gave birth to our son last week.

We are back home, nursing, catching up on sleep, and bonding as a family. As many of you undoubtedly know, it is a rich and precious time. It’s hard to find words to express the mixture of wonder, awe, and love that flows through us in moments of quiet connection, or the fascinating puzzle of learning to read his cues of pleasure and distress.

I’m on leave for the coming weeks, and will teach one online class this fall, starting mid-October. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has sent their blessings and to each of you who has been holding us in your hearts during this special time.
