Your Voice Matters

Hi ,
Last night, I did something stupid.
What did I do?
Well...
It was a cool night,
I'm lying on my bed while the Bluetooth Speaker Plays Lawrence Oyor's song "Favour" Plays softly in the Background.
(don't judge me, I need all the favour in this life, plus exams are coming soon)
and there i was nibbling on a pack of biscuit when I finally did it.
Mehnn,
I opened your replies at 1 a.m. while eating the biscuit.
By 1:30, I was kind of almost approaching tears.
(But imma hard guy)
Not because it was sad—but because you put words to things I thought only I felt. Like:
“I just spent all my time on a design, then trashed it because i felt ‘it wasn't good enough.’”
“My best work happens when I’m avoiding my actual job.”
“Why does everyone else’s Instagram look like they’ve got their life together?”
Here’s the truth: I’ve hit Rock Bottom a couple of times because someone said, “I wasn't good enough.” I’ve written taglines in the shower. I’ve rage-unfollowed people whose grids felt like mirrors of my own inadequacy.
So today, I’m doing two things:
- Sharing one of my first Photographs I took as a Budding Photographer Vs My Pictures now.
-
So, be the Judge, am I Good... or not?
- Asking you to invite someone who needs this level of honesty.
Forward this email to a friend with:
“I Found a place where ‘being original’ is the whole point. Join us?”
And if you’re feeling brave, hit reply and tell me:
What’s one thing you’ve created that felt “you weren't good enough”—and why you’re secretly proud of it?
I’ll start: Last week, I took a picture of a friend in the studio which I thought wouldn't be "Aesthetically Pleasing" It’s absurd.
Grateful for your messy Creativity,
Okedeji Omótèsó
P.S. If you need a laugh/cry, listen to Joseph talk about the time they presented a “draft” that was literally just a meme. [Link here].
