Apr 17, 2024 11:01 am
Hey ,
Spring is here - despite the windy weather (if you're in the UK) it is a great time to gently settle into this time of the year.
I have started working on Season 2 of The Talking Growth 🎙️ podcast and if all goes well, the new season should be launched in the next couple of weeks.
I'm also looking at launching an In-Person LinkedIn workshop for founders and other professionals interested in learning how to use LinkedIn to their advantage. The workshop will be in Central London so if you're interested, we will have more info in our next issue.
Today, we're going to take a look at
- A marketing tool you can use to get advice on marketing tasks.
- Why the UK is having concerns about Big Tech having control over AI
- A sneak peak at yet another tool that can write code autonomously and this one is Open Source
- Udio, a new music generation tool that you're going to fall in love with.
- Elon Musk officially joins the AI arms race with Grok-AI

UK Raises Concern Over Big Tech's Control of AI
It appears that the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is worried about Big tech's domination of the generative AI market.

According to a recent article on tech Crunch, key players like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, and Apple are deeply integrated across the AI sector, which could lead to unfair market practices and harm consumer interests.

Another threat to coding jobs unveiled
Last month I spoke at the tech jobs Fair - UK in London as my topic was Artificial Intelligence, I featured a quote by Jensen Huang, founder of Nvidia who went on to say that soon coders and programmers will be a thing of the past.
Now I know a few people might call this a "sound-byte" moment but the rise of Devin by Cognition Labs.
In our last issue, we talked about Devin, an AI based software engineer that can write code, solve tasks using its own code editor and web browser. It can even recall relevant context, learn over time and fix mistakes.
A few days ago, I found out about SWE-Agent, an open-source system that turns GPT-4 into an AI software engineering agent that can autonomously solve issues in GitHub repositories.
First Devin and now SWE-Agent - the future is looking bright....and a bit scary???

Meet the ChatGPT for Music
With all this talk about Generative AI for written content, images and video, you might be excused for thinking that nobody was paying attention to sound or music.
Suno is the OG when it comes to Generative music and while I think it is really good, it will definitely get better. But it appears there's a new player in town. Enter Udio, an AI music generator that uses an LLM to write lyrics and and an audio diffusion model to render the music.
I've been tinkering with it over the past week and it is absolutely phenomenal.
Here's how to start using Udio for free right now:
- Go to udio.com and create a free account.
- Type a prompt into the text box at the top of the screen, or hit the dice button to get a random suggestion.
- Choose whether you want an instrumental track, want to write lyrics yourself, or want the lyrics auto-generated.
- Click the red "Create" button to the right of the prompt box.
- Listen to your new masterpiece in the "My Creations" tab on the left!
You get to generate around 10 songs a day for FREE and this will be the case while the app is in beta so make sure you take advantage of this while the free option is still available.

Elon Musk's Grok-AI set to compete with ChatGPT-4
Following the release of Grok-1.5 LLM (Large Language Model) last month, Musk’s AI company—xAI—has launched Grok-1.5 Vision (Grok-1.5V), an AI chatbot that can process text and visual information (which the original Grok-1.5, couldn't do).
Grok 1.5Vreportedly performs better than its rivals, including ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude in real world benchmarks that measure real world understanding.

If you're still reading this, I want to let you know that I will be launching something new in the coming weeks.
If you're a small business owner, a startup founder or simply someone who wants to fast-track their marketing efforts so that you start seeing results, you'll definitely not want to miss out on the product.
In the meanwhile, stay safe, stay awesome...
