August means back to school and when my kids were young, I always enjoyed doing special projects with them at the beginning of each new homeschool year. It helped us gently transition back into our school routines. That's why I wanted to highlight my Callie’s Contest of Courage middle grade novel for you. It's full of adventure for kids, including a cross-country trip to visit the twins of mischief, a water-balloon fight, and a pie-eating contest. As you follow Callie and her military family, you see them praying Psalm 91 over their dad to keep him safe and to give them courage.
Callie’s Contest of Courage offers an engaging read-aloud for all the family along with activities, perfect for easing children into the school year. It comes separately or as part of a literature bundle, which includes a literature study guide and lapbook, filled with vocabulary practice, crossword puzzles, and fun enhancement activities. There is even a yummy recipe Nana’s cool banana cream pie, perfect for a summer treat! It also includes instructions for building a frog habitat, which is a great way to incorporate science and still enjoy the nice weather. Also, it contains guidelines on how to assemble a care package for our troops.

“I believe girls as young as 6 will eagerly read the book [Callie's Contest of Courage] with someone. My daughter loved this book! It nurtured her faith in Christ.” Tracey Masters, homeschool parent
