Dear praying friends,

Last week we took a week of "Staycation". For some people, that is not all that exciting - but with all the travel we have had this year, a week of staying close to home was great.

Last Wednesday, my lovely wife had a birthday (50!!), and we enjoyed a beautiful day together and headed to see the St. John's Bible, followed by dinner with some family and friends.

This weekend we head to General Council for the Christian and Missionary Alliance. We will spend a week in Columbus, Ohio - meeting with other International Workers from the C&MA, serving on committees, and then joining workers and delegates from other churches as we gather together. This year, we will also be electing a new president for the denomination. Please pray for us as we gather!

Some other prayer requests:

1. Our team in Berlin is wrapping up a visit from a short-term team. They have their last full day today, and airport trips tomorrow.
2. Our 2-year resident and a 2-month intern will be finishing their time of service in Berlin next week. Pray for them as they transition back to the US - and for all the decisions and next life steps that will follow.
3. Our son Joshua has major exams this week. Please pray for the three he will be taking on Friday. These are comprehensive exams from his 3-year apprenticeship.
4. A big praise! Dates worked out and we had miles to cover flying our boys to meet us and Johannah in Nashville, TN in August. It will be great to be together as a family again before we return to Berlin at the beginning of September. These times where we are all together will, I am sure, become increasingly difficult to arrange. We are so grateful for the chance to be together again soon(ish)!
