What was your favorite video game?

Hey
Do you remember the first video game you ever played?
How did it make you feel?
I bet the experience was exciting and fun.
Last night I watched a movie called Gran Turismo. It was based on a true story.
It was about a kid who grew up with a passion for race cars. His passion started when he was 5 years old, and his dad took him to see his first Ferrari.
As he got older, he invested 1000s of hours playing Gran Turismo. A video game that simulated real cars on real race tracks.
His dad thought he was wasting his time and that he would never be a professional race car driver.
Nissan aimed to reignite the public's passion for driving as a sport, rather than merely a means for hailing an Uber.
So they invited the best sim racers to an opportunity to do the real thing.
He was selected to be one of the drivers.
I wish I had more hands because I would give this movie 4 thumbs up. Definitely watch it with your friends and family.
But with that being said, this is the point I want to make:
Our brain is unable to distinguish between a fully lived experience and one that is vividly imagined. Therefore, for any aspect of your life, pause and spend a moment mentally rehearsing the steps, as you would practice physical repetitions in the gym.
You can do this with anything.
This kind of practice can help us achieve the 10,000-hour rule of mastery much faster.
So, if you're uncomfortable with something, whether it's a new workout, creating a budget, or handling a difficult client meeting or conversation with your spouse.
Use mental rehearsal as a tool to help you simulate the experience you want to happen.
This is the exact process I use:
- Review my calendar first thing in the morning, while having a cup of coffee.
- Journal, dump out all of my thoughts.
- Read a passage from Jesus Calling.
- Then, while sitting in my chair, I use my imagination to help me create the thoughts, images, and feelings I need to achieve what it is I am aiming for.
Give this a try for the next week and let me know how it worked out for you
Thank you,
Coach Monty
P.S. - You have everything you need right now to accomplish anything that your heart truly desires. It all starts with having your beliefs, thoughts, and actions in alignment with what you want.
