YOU Get To Be The Priority

May 14, 2026 2:01 pm

SAVE THE DATE: JUNE 1st-5th, 2026

As a parent, the current state of the workplace, systemic barriers, outdated policies and lack of community care aren't your fault.

And I've come to believe strongly, it IS a problem we're impacted by weekly and one worth putting our time, energy and effort into before our kids grow up.

School holidays and summer break are approaching here in Canada, technology and industries are shifting rapidly, YET our core problems remain the same:

  • Who will be looking after and present with the kids?
  • How will we get our work done between camps, staycations and activities?
  • Where have all of the snacks and clutter free areas gone?
  • What can we do to create some calm and predictability amidst it all?

The first week of June, I'm bringing back a LIVE version of my Remote Work (Virtual) Retreat For Parents for the first time in over five years.

I've dedicated the past decade to supporting other parents pursuing entrepreneurship, flexible and remote work, while also raising their families.

As you may already know, when I had our first baby in 2016, we were living away from our families of origin (Irish and Canadian) in London, England.

I quickly realized I could no longer do leisurely deep work sessions, graphic design with both hands, pull project all nighters or attend hours long business development events.

But I also still believed everyone deserves to design a life that works for them and their family. My approach to remote work began to look more like...

  • Adjusting my expectations and schedule around kids' transitions and routines (helloooo time blocking);
  • Shorter and messier work sprints from the public library, play area, local park or car as office;
  • Working within the daily limits of my capacity, operating on less sleep and with more distractions than ever before; all
  • Without self-abandoning my own needs, core values or personal boundaries.

To my pleasant surprise, it worked! And I continued doing remote and hybrid contracts between country relocations and having two more kids.

This online experience is for the overscheduled, under resourced and rarely alone parents, working between transitions, messy spaces and a busy season of life.

Please share it with your network as you see fit, I'm looking forward to reconnecting with you all soon.

✨ Have a great start to your weekend,
