I hope that you've been enjoying our "The Way of Wisdom" series on Sunday mornings.
Wisdom is more precious than gold! That's why we should commit ourselves to pursuing it.
But remember, there's a whole lot of fool's wisdom out there. It sounds good, and even makes sense sometimes. But lots of people, who can barely run their own lives, like to dispense with garbage advice and useless platitudes.
See what I mean? Don't listen to these people (or that mallard).
In Luke 7:35 Jesus says, "But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it."
Look at the life of the person giving you advice. Is it a life you'd like to live? Is it a series of successes or failures? Is the person respected or viewed suspiciously?
This is tough because it may mean disregarding a close friend's advice, or maybe even a family member.
But the best advice comes from those who have lived it out, and now their lives are worth imitating.
Whose wisdom are you listening to? That's an important question to ask yourself. Make sure it's Godly wisdom and not fool's wisdom.
One day it will prove to be right or wrong in your life.
