So... you think you need a website

Over the years, many have approached me with the idea that creating an online presence is the next logical step towards meeting sales goals, growing their business, or expanding into new markets. While it's true that a website can be a powerful central hub for your business, it's important to remember that it is just a tool. Do you REALLY need a website?
What is your REAL goal in wanting a website? Is it to increase sales, enhance brand visibility, enter a new market segment, or something else? Any of these objectives require a tailored strategy that probably includes a website, but it is not limited to that.
Before investing in a web project, it's essential to define your business model, sales tactics, and what makes your offer unique. This clarity will ensure that your online efforts are aligned with your business goals and prevent unnecessary expenditures that don't serve your core objectives.
So, before discussing domain names, site features, and web design, start with discussing your specific business goals related to the website. Don't mail it in. Write it down. Solidify it. Identifying these goals upfront will help us create a digital strategy that truly aligns with your goals.
A website should not be your goal — it should be a means to reach your goal.
