First Things First: Got Eternal Life?

Yes. Seriously.

We're called to pray for each other.

Fellowship with one another.

Encourage each other.

And a whole bunch of other things that show we belong to God.

But if anything shows you belong to God, it's your LOVE.

Our love for God. And our love for one another.

Jesus said that's how everyone would know the disciples belonged to Him.

And Peter encouraged other believers to do the same.

Above all.

If we're to love above all the other things he encourages us to do...

Are we doing it in our marriage?

1 Peter 4:8-10

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."

QUESTIONS TO ASK:

Am I loving my spouse deeply?

Is my love covering sin? Or offering hospitality without grumbling?

Am I using my gifts to serve my spouse?

PRAYER: Thank you Father for showing me what love that covers sin looks like. Thank you for sending Jesus to die so we can have eternal life. Thank you for covering us, forgiving us.

Help me have a love that forgives my spouse, that covers them. Help us to have a love that protects us and builds us both up.

Show us how to love each other, in every season of our marriage. Help us to communicate effectively through every emotion we feel. Help us to create boundaries that we agree on. Help us to acknowledge when we hurt and extend forgiveness like you do to us.

Above all, help us to Love each other deeply. ❤❤❤
