FOOLS in marriage do This - [PROVERS 18:2]

Sep 17, 2020 5:56 pm

First Things First: Got Eternal Life?

Given the choice between being a wise spouse and foolish spouse...

All of us would choose wise.

None of us want to be fools.

But is that what our actions are showing?

A foolish spouse is one who prioritizes getting their point across.

They don't want to understand.

They don't find pleasure in understanding.

It pleases them to ONLY share their opinion and say what they think.

See...

PROVERBS 18:2

"Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions."

QUESTIONS TO ASK:

Am I choosing to be a wise or a foolish spouse?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father help me to find pleasure in understanding my spouse.

Forgive me for every sin that's keeping me from being like you. I repent and run towards Your open arms.

Help me be slow to answer, quick to listen and really hear what's being said and understand what's really happening.

Thank you for the ability to understand my spouse, and even understand myself.

Open my heart to be the best me for us. Help me to choose Your wisdom over being foolish.

I want to be a reflection of You and Your love for us. Help me to allow Your love to flow through me.

Thank you for your joy, your peace, your love, your security.

Now help me be a reflection of those things in my marriage TODAY.

In Jesus name, You be glorified through us. Amen.
